Suebi Medium Interceptor
« on: August 21, 2018, 04:15:17 PM »

I know I know Tak I'm jumping the gun but what can I say I'm a rebel that and I haven't designed a fighter in a very long time.

Side note is there any tools for creating dropships/jumpships/warships i got an idea after seeing a picture somewhere on the web.

Suebi Medium Interceptor
A finely-honed balance between combat ability, maneuverability and ease of repair, the Gotha Aerospace Fighter was a mainstay of the SLDF forces. When Clan Star Adder began looking to increase their limited Aerospace fighter reserves the Clan turned to this design as a basis for the new Suebi Medium Interceptor.

While at the slower end of the medium weight class, the sleek fighter carries an impressive seventeen tons of Ferro-Aluminum armor, giving the Suebi significant protection. Upgrading the speed of the craft the Adders have swapped out the old Piker 180 engine with a new 240 XL engine which caused delays in the initial unveiling of the design for the previous Quicksilver Trials as the Adders needed to build the plant for the new engine. The assistance of the Adders allies in Cloud Cobra helped expedite and overcome the flaws of the old Gotha with its flawed targeting and tracking system and its jamming of other vital systems. The entire electronics package has been upgraded with the top of the line Clan electronics. Utilizing the advanced targeting computer not often found on Clan Aerospace fighters bolstered with an Active Probe and ECM suite to assist on its long patrols ensures an advantage in many upcoming encounters.

Weapons and Equipment
Based on extensive pilot contributions, the arsenal of the original Gotha has been swapped out for an entirely new look. Centering on for at long ranges, the Suebi uses a pair of Large Pulse Lasers, one mounted in each wing, supported by a trio of nose-mounted Extended Range Medium Lasers, still utilizing the original Gotha’s sliding safety/re-entry hatch to protect the weapons during landing.

LPL + targetting computer = owie!  Although not that fast for a Clan fighter, its going to be as fast as most Spheroids its size and faster than any assault fighters.  And its not going to miss thanks to the combination of LPLs and Tarcom allowing it to engage at long range and just keep on hitting and smaller craft will not want to be slapped by it.

The heavy armours also very nice considering that most Clan ASF assets are very under armoured..  There's no indication of how big its fuel tank is but i would assume larger than the Clan average, which again is a good thing.

Darn nice fighter if you ask me!

Is there any software or excel spreadsheets that work for constructing DropShips/Jumpships/Warships? I tried following along in TechManual i think it was and got lost near the end when they stopped having tables to assist.
