==Overview:==
Designed by the independent company Corsair Development Technologies Inc the
Artemis is effectively the first completely independent WarShip design open
for all takers who have the construction capabilities and are interested in
spending the necessary C-Bills for the plans.
==Capabilities:==
While most modern WarShips are designed to be escorted by a squadron or more
Assault DropShips the Artemis-class Raider takes on a completely different
role. The Artemis is the escort ship, normally for the two DropShips it
carries, the Artemis has more speed available to it than any other WarShip
currently in production allowing it to rapidly change position defending its
DropShips.
Once in position the Artemis can use its array of Anti-Missile systems to
defend from missile attacks. While its array of sub capital lasers,
Autocannons and Piranha missiles will make short work of any incoming DropShip
the craft's layers of LRM, PPC and gauss rifle will make it uncomfortable for
any aerospace squadron.
Without any true Capital weapons the Artemis has to rely on its speed and
defence systems when facing off against true WarShips. The Craft's armour is
not strong enough to survive a concentrated attack with capital weapons.

==Deployment==
Due to the unique development process of this craft it has been made
available to all Succession States and even the Clans should they be
interested. Already there has been interested parties from all five
Succession States and even one or two of the larger Periphery states.
In each case the inquiring state has made inquires to CDT Inc on the
possibilities of customizing the weapons load for their own nation. For
example while the Draconis Combine purely wishes to see this vessel carry its
Naval C3 systems and large array of Medium Range Missiles the Federated Suns
want to change the ship's role completely moving it into an escort position
for their Fox-class Corvettes and Avalon-class Cruisers. Both of these ships
already in production carry multiple DropShips but they are unable to protect
them correctly.
The Federated Suns representative to CDT Inc has asked about the
possibility of including screen launches and rotary autocannons while
replacing all the sub-capital armament with Sub-Capital Auto Cannons. These
modifications would turn the vessel more into a Blockade Runner, combined with
Conquistador Blockade Runners and Arondight Pocket WarShips these would allow
this ship to punch through defence lines while Avalon and Fox class vessels
form a perimetre.
In a completely different view point the Lyran Commonwealth are looking to
have another WarShip the can produce and quickly. With the Defiance
Hammerfist Heavy Gauss Rifles and SturmFeur ELRM systems already produced in
the Lyran Commonwealth their overall plan appears to be to replace all the
conventional weapons with these two systems, possibly upgrading the Gauss
Rifle to an improved version recently being tested on Hesperus II, and hitting
enemy forces with a wall of LRMs or Gauss Rifles Fire.
Regardless of individual state choices CDT Inc appear to be on for the win
with this class of vessel with many asking, just what will they come up with
next.
