Looking for an Aerospace Fighter
« on: January 24, 2012, 01:38:38 PM »

I am looking for an Aerospace Fighter with a name/concept that would go well with the Banshee (the 'Mech).
It can be cannon or not.

You mean a canon ASF, or something custom?

Name it the Siren (bugger the little Proto.) The name fits better.

Someone said on Solaris 7 Hellcat.

Hmm...a PPC and AC/5? There isn't much in the way of ASFs that line up perfectly. IMO, I'd pick a defining characteristic and work from there. Assault weight? The PPC, or AC/5? Heavy armor? Large Engine (relative to weight)? The list goes on.

The Riever is a heavy aerospace fighter full of hate, especially the AC/20 variants.  I recommend it.

You got me wrong Knightmare.
I meant that the Aerospace Fighter had to have a name that linked it somehow to the Banshee not that it had to be Banshee-alike.

MadCappelan, what does Riever mean?

It's simply a variant spelling of reaver, as far as I'm aware.

Pretty much. It's specifically the spelling used for the warbands of nobles along the scots-english border that used to fairly regularly raid each other's cattle and other such fun excitements in the mid-second millenium.

I am looking for an Aerospace Fighter with a name/concept that would go well with the Banshee (the 'Mech).

A quick check of wikipedia can reveal a bunch of similar mythic names. Hylas, Nymphs, the Slavic Rusalka, the Germanic Nix, the Scottish Bean Nighe, and the Romanian Iele pop on a quick search.

There's the Banshee aerospace/conventional fighter from the Somerset Strikers book. Although why anyone would use one of them escapes me.

This is why I knew it but couldn't find it.
Thanks.

I will look there.

Thanks but I am not an Aerospace designer (just ask Knightmare) and this is why I am looking for existing models.

I also found that Master Arminas made a Taurian Aerospace Fighter named Banshee.

You can find the Somerset knockoff in XTRO RetroTech if I remember correctly.
