Nice Design I can see how this should could really prove its self in combat.
If you follow the link to the fic you may actually see that.
However, you made a few minor miscalculations.
I'm using Heavy Metal Aero, so for once it really would be the tools not the craftsman.
Your ship doesn't need much in terms of heat sinks added. You get 616 free with your engine. Make them doubles (1,232!) and much of your heat issues are dealt with. The formula for the free heat sinks is forty five plus the square root of your engine weight time two.
It's
probably not necessary to have enough heatsinks to fire all the weapons but it was a minor enough tonnage to fit the extra 254 double heatsinks necessary so I went ahead. This is not a miscalculation it is a design choice.
Also you made a mistake in your armor belt. Inner Sphere Lamellor Ferro-carbide only gives you a multiplier of 1. This means the Loyalty would have 649 points not the 744 you calculated. Even if you go with the Clan Version, that only gives you a 1.1 multiplier 713.9. But don’t threat, because of your 50 points of Internal Structure, you get 5 points of armor on each facing. So this will help lessen this mistake. If you spread your armor evenly, that will give you 108 points per facing plus 5. You will have one more point to place to one of the six facings. A grand total of 113. Not too far off from the 124 you originally had. (Now if you are using another formula, please let me know lol I might want to consider this formula with my ships)
Subtracting 5 (from SI) from the 124 on all facings leaves 119. 6x 119 = 714. 713.9 rounds up to 714 - this is the normal rounding procedure. 744 is the figure
including the SI figure.
Your weapon load out of 67,960 is impressive but there is a critical flaw in your load out. You lack AMS. I STRONGLY advise looking in to adding some. Reason behind this is a loan Nuclear tipped missile could end your ship in one shot. I know it’s a shady kind of attack, but I learned the hard way how a jerk can end your ship with a lone Killer Whale missile because you lack AMS. (I call him a jerk even though he has been my best friend for years and my Battletech Mentor for just as long. But when he snubbed my ship off the map in less than ten minutes of game time, I have a right to be a bit upset lol)
I understand that would be helpful, however the doctrine used in (re-)construction of these ships doesn't include AMS. It's a mistake that could cost them.
(In other settings, I've used considerable AMS. In the Periphery Lords game - where tech creep was considerable - I developed the Tulwar-class battleship, a 1,900,000 ton vessel exploiting the AMS rules to tank massed nuclear missile strikes. It had 20 Laser AMS on each arc and 100,000 double heatsinks. If no other weapons were fired it could engage up to 1,000 incoming capital missiles a round. This was a necessary capacity.)
I would also suggest looking at your numbers. Your ship appears a bit on the light side for its overall tonnage of 680,000.
I assure you, it adds up.
I loved what you did with spare parts, food and water. Your ship has already given me some ideas. Though I am not sure how I will overcome my weight issues.
Most of that just carried over from the Lola-III class ships this was developed from. Just the engines and jump drive make up almost 70% of the ship's mass before anything else is considered.
Now if you think your Loyalty is cramped, try looking at my ships. Your ship is a luxury liner compared to duty on my ships! Though I did add some mess kitchens and Lounges
plus large Grav Decks so I just tell my crews to stop complaining lol.
Again this is fluff inherited from descriptions of the canonical Lola-class from which the Liberty class is developed.
