Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

dragon cat I guess you think i'm pretty dumb , I should have realized that saran-net would also have that data if I had just thought a it out a little longer . I've been data mining over there for other things for my au piece . still can't find all the facts I would like , but that's life , you don't get every thing you want . thanks again for the help .

Not at all problem with sarna is it's generalised info for the most part only reason I'm quoting those is I'm on nightshift at work no access to my books if I was home I could look at my books and give better answers

I've been looking at the wt. ranges of the different NAC mounts and this is minus the turrets . I noticed that starting the NAC/40 there is a progressive 500mt decrease in wt. , so shouldn't there be an NAC/15 at 2000 mt , instead of the NAC/10 being at 2000 mt  , while the NAC/10 should be 1500 mt .

This is a common rule by Battletech, the biggest auto cannons have the smallest range.

ice i think you misunderstood  what the object of what my question was . i'm not asking for range firing info , those i can still do in my head i was gun captain of a twin 3in 54cal mount for most of my term of service . the wt. ranges between the different NAC indicates  there should be an NAC/15 sandwiched  inbetween  the NAC/20 and the NAC/10 .

There's no good answer for that question- trying to apply logic doesn't work in BT a lot of the time. There is no NAC/15 because the game designers did not decide to include one.  There is no known in universe reason for why it does not exist or why the weights are the way they are.

That said I did design an early Davion corvette (the Audacious Class) that was originally armed with a NAC/15.  The NAC/15 turned out to be a dud and was later replaced with a NAC/20,

much like how Ground Scale Autocannons get their measurement from Kilos of ordinance thrown in a 10 second time frame, I am pretty sure a Captial Scale Autocannon gets it's rating from the energy transferred from the projectile to the target.  there may not be a NAC 15 simply because producing one would not be viable from an engineering, cost, or tactical need standpoint.
