Nome Class Light Cruiser 21

One of the ships that belong to one of the Realms located in the Project Beast Clan Universe, this is actually one of my personal favorites, my group was expecting a light cruiser until it started shelling out fighters to add to a world of hurt, that poor Battlecruiser never expected that to happen hehehe

==Overview:==
 The Southern Rim Republic was a small nation but one blessed with fertile
worlds and natural resources, but the number of such worlds was limited in
comparison to its larger and more powerful neighbor to the North, The
Sovereign League. Yet the SRR was not daunted or intimidated by this fact and
went about designing a light cruiser that would fulfill the defense
requirements of the SRR, instead of trying to match the leviathans that the
Sovereign League fielded for its navy and also limited in the size of the
warship they could build due to shipyard constraints. The SRR Bureau of Ships
set about designing a Light Cruiser that at this present time could be the
fastest warship in the Realms !!. Designed for speed and armed with a hard
hitting payload of HNPPC's and NL/55's for its main weapons the Nome Class
Light Cruiser can dictate the range of its battles and stay away from the
deadly broadsides of larger warships. Due to its operating characteristics the
Nome is used in many roles in the SRR, ranging from border patrols to convoy
escort duty.

 Now with the merger of the SRR into the SL, the Nome Class is now in the
process of becoming part of Sovereign League Navy, the decision was made by
both Sovereign Designate and her new advisors from the SRR to have
construction of the Nome Class continued and continue it's current duties but
with the addition of becoming escort for the Raven Class Battlecruiser that
was once its enemy.

The Sovereign Designate impressed with the speed and firepower of the Nome
Class has ordered the now combined shipyards of the merged realms to submit
designs for a new type of Battlecruiser based on the Nome Class in order to
provide the Sovereign League a new medium weight class of warship to fill the
gap between the two classes of warship in commission with the Sovereign
League.

==Capabilities:==
The Nome Class is armed with a double broadside armament of 18 HNPPC's and
Fore and Aft mounted 6 NL/55's for its main weapons.

The Nome is also armed with a battery of secondary armaments that are lethal
to either dropship's or aerospace fighters in the form of 32 Light Gauss
Rifles for extreme range and ER PPC's for long range, for close range support
the Nome also sports 32 deadly Ultra 20 AC's and for Anti Missile defense the
ship carries 24 chain fire Machine Guns.

 The Nome while classified as a Light Cruiser is also carrier type warship,
this is done in the form of its compliment of 110 aerospace fighters.

 A compliment of 10 small craft are carried to act as either general service
craft or as assault craft transport for the Nome's Compliment of 40 Battle
Armor Squads which are used for boarding parties against hostile craft.

Last and not least the Nome also carries three dropship docking points that
can be used to carry either Dropships or the newly developed monitor type of
attack craft allowing the Light Cruiser to augment its firepower and operating
abilities.

Southern League.

Compared to some SLDF or modern Inner Sphere ships of similar weight this cruiser is a tad under-gunned and over armored, but then I saw the fighters! This ship would fill a great slot next to a New Syrtis or Samarkand.

hehehe, when it comes to faster ships of this style I go German style of building from WW I, not as heavily armed, but armored enough to last past the initial salvo or two

We'll see - I have fairly clear ideas on speed/mass and weapons. Since I never bought HM Aero-space, I may just ask your help to design the fleet.

We'll see - I have fairly clear ideas on speed/mass and weapons. Since I never bought HM Aero-space, I may just ask your help to design the fleet.

Feel free to just give a detailed concept and what you prefer for weapons, speed and armor and we will go from their.
