 It's been a while since i last posted, so i thought i would try this one out, in the fluff you might see the CDT(Corsair Development Technology's) mentioned, that was a joke between me and Dragon Cat when i started helping tweak some designs warship wise, but later decided to use it as a base idea for alt designs that have not left the simulator, much like Comstar did with their Dante class frigate. also this to help me flesh out my fluff wrighting to which i admit still needs a lot of work. ==Overview:==
A completely Theoretical design from  Corsair Development Technologies based
on a enlarged hull of their Artemis class Corvette Raider.

 While slower than the Artemis (barely), the Calabog is a warship brimming
with firepower(most of the design staff still refer to the ship as a
Battlecruiser more than a Intercept Cruiser do to it's mix of armor, weapons
and speed.),
few modern designs match the ships size and speed, and only the famed Mako of
the Lyran Commonwealth actually exceeded its speed.

 Even with the massive weight cost of the Engines, the design team found the
mass needed to outfit the ship with a truly diverse weapons array banks of NL
55's mounted along the flanks and fore and aft hull sections provide accurate
and fairly heavy firepower, supplementing the NL's are  AR-10 missile
launchers which enhances and increases it versatility and range and also the
all to common nuclear option now found occurring in modern times.

 Yet the heaviest firepower is located in the fore section of the ship,
outfitted with a battery 0f three double turrets mounting Heavy Naval Gauss
Cannon's supplemented with 10 pack Bay of NL-55's give a forward firing salvo
that was mistaken by one observer to be a new weapon system entirely when all
the bays was fired in tandem.

 Some reductions was needed to bring the ship within tonnage,  the fighter
compliment was downgraded from 40 to 24 fighters, fortunately enough spare
tonnage was freed up to help compensate for this in the form of a additional
drop collar to allow for a dedicated fighter carrier to assigned to off set
this reduction.

 CDT has stated very stress fully that is a purely theoretical work and is not
being meant for construction but as a technology demonstrator for testing at
both CDT and the Star League Naval Bureaus Holographic Combat and Design
Testing Facility's on Terra.



==Capabilities:==
 While not meant for long term deployments, the Calabog is quite capable
reaching trouble spots quickly with it's combination of speed and LF Battery
for dual jumps.

 If needed for longer deployment, one of the four jump collars can be equipped
with a cargo dropship to help offset needed cargo for a estimated 4 to 6 month
patrol.
 


==Variants:==
Currently there is three alternate versions being discussed, but no definite
plans have been considered or announced.

 While it is doubtful that the Calabog design will ever leave the Design
simulator, CDT has already confirmed much like their Artemis class Corvette,
they stand ready to modify at at buyer request.

==Deployment==
 Currently there is no known ships built according to CDI Public Spokesperson.

I like the CDT moniker attached to the fluff it's perfectly reasonable to imagine such companies existing in the Inner Sphere or beyond taking current WarShip designs and modifying them to suit their needs or even just playing about with designs - excuse to play with WarShip design for a fan you don't need much.

As for the design she's a nose on fighter that's for sure.

Personally I might have preferred to see it mixed up a little in the weapons just to give a little flexibility and taste.

I do like the fluff of the Naval Gauss and Lasers firing together looking like something new but I'd have maybe put 3 Naval Gauss per side arc going forward giving you a little extra flexibility in firing.  The visual idea of a massive triple barreled Naval Gauss Rifle turret running down the side of the ship is quite cool as well.

At the same time reducing or removing the Heavy Gauss Rifle bays from the forward arcs but putting a 6 bay in the front (max out the 20 weapons without a bigger FC tonnage although this design isn't one that's bothered with using additional fire control it'd mix it up a bit.)

Maybe even drop the Capacitors then go with Heavy PPCs - not because its more effective but because its easier to track than trying to remember if the Capacitor is charged or not!!  ;)

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

yeah, the capacitors was a left over and forgot to address that, and i like the idea of HPPc's, will see about that on the next redraft, might go with a more layered approach with the secondarys weapons to give a bit more flair ?, i had considered the first time around a ERLRM, LGR and HNPPC weapons battery placement instead of the current one, will try that out for the redraft also.

 Okay took some of DC's ideas and a couple of new ones that occured to me while redesigning, this one is a bit more slimmed down forward fire power wise, but one i though about the single  turrents for the HNGR's i just realized i made a BT version of Captain Harlock's Arcadia !!  lol

datum had been fired !!(CDT is currently brainstorming this idea and currently
calling it Project Armageddon))

The ship itself comes with a strong AA and ADS weapons array consisting of Heavy
PPC's and Heavy Gauss Rifle's, which have enough fire power to be a threat to
warship grade armor.

lastly a array of Laser Anti Missile was outfitted to the design in order to
provide continuous fire not limited by ammo, the only down side is the massive
heat burden this would incur, hence the addition of 300 Double Heatsinks to
offset this problem.
