Enterprise-class Carrier

Here's my attempt at he Enterprise carrier using the original mass of 1 million tons. It carries 300 fighters divided into wings of 60 fighters (3 regiments with command squadron). It's capable of launching 24 fighters at a time. Cargo mass is at nearly 164,000 tons with 25,000 tons dedicate to spare part and another 30,000 tons dedicated to fuel and ammo for the fighters. The rest is dedicated to all other stores. Weaponry is well-balanced and kept streamlined and less of a drain on logistics. BTW, I believe in lots of ammo for my guns, not the paltry amount of ammo that the SL gave to its vessels.

You are way short on support personnel for your fighters.  Each plane requires a maintenance crew of 7 IIRC - 1 lead tech and 6 astechs.  For 300 fighters you need 2100 support people.  The 1 tech included with each bay is only for the most basic of maintenance- if you expect to operate large number of fighters over long periods of time, including combat, you should really have a full support crew on board.

Since when? Is that a SO rule?

Sometimes for a more mission intensive design I replace Fighter bays with Small Craft bays which the fighters can still use and get 4 astechs for the fighter crew and to top it off more ready cargo storage per fighter compared to a normal fighter bay, but if you can show the page for the reference for those manning levels please do, other wise I plan on stick to my base four flight crew's

A tech team is 1 lead tech and 6 astechs.  Typically on dropships space is only provided for the lead tech (i.e. the 2 bay personnel are the pilot and the lead tech) the remaining astechs are acquired when the dropship lands. Which is fine if you are deploying for a planetary assault, not so good if you are a space based unit.

To me, StratOps = Optional rules. I worked within the limits of the current HM: Aero program. Yes, it is horribly out of date, but one must use what one has.

Pretty much anything in BT is optional, you always have the choice to disregard a rule for your groups play style or add to it, myself I can see a 5 man tech crew which is more in line with wet navy flight crews. or take a different approach, it's the supposed future I will just add 10 tons to the fighter bays and use maintence bots for the repair and refuel/rearming stuff and just have the AStech punch the buttons for the programing, there we go and that will eliminate wasted tonnage on fleshlings, opps looks like my inner Cylon popped out lol/
