Here is the Cochise fluff for MasterArminas concept. Sorry it is so late but I have been extremely busy. The complete review should be up tonight.

Cochise
Mass: 70 Tons
Frame: Eden Compact 90
Engine: Redline 350 XL
Armor: Great Father Type XIa Ferro-aluminum
Armament:
20 tons of pod space available
Manufacturer: Drennan Industrialplex
   Primary Factory: Tamaron
Communications System: K55
Targeting/Tracking System: Coyote’s Spirit 4

OVERVIEW
When the Coyotes embarked on their journey to create an aerospace fighter for the Clan war effort they recognized the need for a close air support craft. This would be a natural fit for their touman which was focused on carrying out robust ground based assaults. While some outsiders thought this fact would inhibit their ability to rapidly design such an aerospace frame they did not account for the Coyote’s friends.
Hell’s Horses had attempted two such models previously for the Quicksilver Program and stood ready to help its long time ally in the endeavor. Snow Raven also offered their engineering expertise on the project no doubt hoping to strengthen a potential rival of their growing aerospace competitor, the Cloud Cobras. Finally the Wolf Clan would be vital in providing existing materials for rapid production.
Luckily everything fell into place quickly as the pact that formalized Raven control over the primary Avar manufacturing line, originally a Wolf design, opened the way for obtaining the Jagatai aerospace frame upon which this design is based. The Coyotes were also pleased by the inclusion of the venerable Redline 350 XL Engine to power the concept as the wildly popular Blood Knight BattleMech as well as intriguing 70 ton Main Battle Tank could make use of it.
A full star of these fighters named after the famous Apache leader who proved equally skilled in war and peace was forwarded to the ilKhan for evaluation.

CAPABILITIES
With twenty seven tons of ferro aluminum armor encasing its structure the Cochise can best be described as “the flying brick”. This incredible amount of protection enables the fighter to endure an incredible amount of damage. Some test pilots even speak of their invincibility while at the helm of this well armored craft. A few have even gone through with apparent suicidal maneuvers even resulting in crashes only to walk away unharmed. While critics call this behavior delusional and bordering on the insane it has pointed out the fighters astonishing survivability.
While the thick skin of this OmniFighter is perhaps its most impressive feature no one can discount its speed. Able to maneuver normally at 3.5Gs the Redline 350XL Engine can boost the Cochise to a maximum thrust of 5.5Gs. This superior quickness not only makes for a remarkable fighter but an excellent bomber as it can carry an excellent bomb load. All this performance comes at the price of pod space however which only maxes out at 20 tons, far lower than Clan norms.
Primary Configuration features two Extended Range Particle Projection Cannons linked to a Targeting Computer creating a fearsome opponent for any foe. Five additional double heat sinks help off set the excess energy generated by these weapon systems.
Alternate Configuration A relies on a single Long Range Missile 20 rack as its main weapon. Equipped with an Artermis IV Firing Control System and three tons of ammo it can blanket any would be foe with distant missile fire. Five Medium Pulse Lasers are also present for any threat vessel that dare closes in. Only a single double heat sink was added to deal with extra weapon fire.
Alternate Configuration B returns to an all energy arsenal linked to a three ton Targeting Computer creating a fearsome adversary. With an Extended Range Large Laser serving as its main gun backed by seven Extended Range Medium Lasers it can inflict terrible damage on ground based targets or would be aerial rivals. Six additional double heat sinks were added to dissipate waste heat generated by this configuration.
Alternate Configuration C requires the fighter to close with threats in order to use its five Streak SRM 6s. Armed with four tons of ammunition this tight quarters load out is very capable of dispatching threats. One rear mounted Extended Range Medium Laser is also included for aft defense.

DEPLOYMENT
As testing continues on the Cochise there has already been widespread speculation on ChatterWeb who exactly will field these formidable ground assault fighters. Naturally the Coyotes followed by Hell’s Horses, Snow Ravens, and the Wolves would be first in line to use the Cochise. However, Burrock and Goliath Scorpion have both shown a surprising amount of interest in this concept indicating they may move to acquire some.

Sorry this is so late everybody, all I can say is Merry Christmas and hope you understand. The Aerospace Design Trinity is at it again with three excellent entries and I would like to thank them for all their efforts. Let us get right to it.

3. Cochise (masterarminas and Takiro)
This 70 ton concept presented by masterarminas and completed by myself is pretty awesome. First off I absolutely love the name which hits on the American Indian theme of Coyote OmniFighters and one of my favorite characters from Falling Skies. Unfortunately it also has too much of a good thing. I think 27 tons of ferro aluminum (518 factor) is too much armor if there is such a thing. Not that all that protection is a bad thing in itself but it takes too much mass away from pod space. I feel like 21 tons would have been enough and maybe would have even pushed it a little lower just to make room for weapons and equipment. With only 20 tons there and 10 (20) Heat Sinks there is not a lot of room for punch. I like the configurations with perhaps B lasering in as my favorite but with another 6 tons or more it could have been better. Perhaps the best thing about the fighter is its speed advantage (7/11) that the other competitors lacked. That 2 MP over thrust gain over the 6/9 rivals is something I really liked plus it has 5 tons of fuel for standard range which is an improvement over the Jagatai. Fluff wise I hope you guys liked what I came up with on short notice to make for a complete entry something which I thought this concept deserved. Not too shabby masterarminas but I am going to rank this submission as the third place contestant.

2. Mohave (drakensis)
This 70 ton entry based on the Jagatai aerospace frame from Clan Wolf was well done. There is a Clan like tension to the fluff that I found very appropriate. I could see Coyote dealing with Diamond Shark for the electronics and Nova Cats for additional engines if necessary. The 280XL Engine (6/9) which is the same power plant as the Coyotl is a nice touch especially after that OmniMech was considered for reactivation as part of Quicksilver and may see action for the Coyotes once again. Not only does this design have 30 tons of pod space for weapons and equipment but it also has 15 (30) Heat Sinks provide an excellent basis for dissipating excess weapons fire. The configurations are very Jagatai like and Configuration B is my favorite with a Gauss Rifle plus two ER PPCs. With 20 tons of ferro aluminum (384 factor) it certainly fits the design outline with ample protection. Oh and the design name is very nice. I really only have one negative comment about this submission. I would have liked to have seen an improvement in the 4 ton fuel tank from the Jagatai which is below standard range. Other than that the Mohave is a very solid entry. I just liked one other a little more.

1. Shoshone (Abele)
This 60 ton Gotha aerospace frame harkens back to the Royal units of the Star League Defense Force. Personally I love the look and the Shoshone name is very good. Using the 240XL Engine (6/9) which will be the same power plant on the Canis BattleMech when it rolls of the production line in a few years is a nice touch. It provides descent thrust and might make for the core of a nice Clan Battle Tank. It also has an ample 6 ton fuel tank which enables it to stay in the air longer than standard. With 17 tons of ferro aluminum (326 factor) it has a lot of protection but does not go completely overboard. This combined with 28 tons of pod space for weapons and equipment which is nearly half the craft’s mass makes for a pretty nice ground support fighter. The one drawback I would cite is the base design has only 10 (20) Heat Sinks which tends to leave the configurations running hot. Despite that I liked the Shoshone better than its competitors so congrats Abele.

Okay folks, with nine aerospace contests down there is one to go and since each of the Aerospace Design Trinity has won three challenges that makes the next one the decider. Unless of course we get a last minute new designer who wins the whole thing. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully that final aerospace challenge will be up tonight.

I'm going for three in a row just like Drakensis has done recently.
