Oh, there's lots of room for something like that.  The real issue is that the Mk 39 was reported to be the most-produced version of a line of ships that was in production for 200+ years, and the current version as of 2750.  So it appearing in FedSuns service in 2577, when the design is barely a third of the way through its life-cycle, is a bit of an issue.  After all, in Clan service it gets three new updates (to the Mk 42) in the space of about 175 years, but if the Mk 39 version is available in 2577, and still the "new" design in 2750 after 175 years...well, that doesn't make sense.

Thus in 2577, if it's in service with the Great House the Vincent should be in a much earlier edition, something between Mk 10 and Mk 20, say, especially since even the Mk 39 is less well armed than one of the designs it replaced (the Vigiliant) despite being nearly twice the size.

Hummm Ok I see the problem. I don't know unless there were 'minor alterations' to the Mk 39 that didn't warrant a 'revision roll'.

TR2750 talks about how over the life of the Vincent at one point or another the engines, computers and weapons have been changed.  It possible that early models may have been slower.  Maybe at one point it carried White Shark Missiles instead of Barracudas.  Maybe instead of Ferro-Carbide armor earlier models used standard armor or ferro-aluminum.  But some of the changes could be undetectable when it comes to game stats.  Maybe instead of the Luxor 10 Series Naval Autocannons, the Vincent original carried the Myron Class 10 Naval Autocannon.  Or you can have the differences between the Mk 38 and Mk 39- which TR2750 notes is the use of the Ulsop AI Surveillance Computer which gives it double the detection range of the mk 38.  So maybe the Mk 20 game stat was was not much different from the Mk39, but it still doesn't make sense to say the Mk 39 was deployed in 2577.
