Taurus-class Frigate

Much has been made of the story of the corvette Vandenberg . . . the albatross on which the Concordat was reported to be spending vast sums in a vain attempt to restore the old SLDF vessel to her former glory.  But, in a twist of fate that has driven many spies to shame, it turns out that the Taurians were NOT attempting to restore the old Vincent-class ship . . . but were spending money hand-over-fist to reverse engineer the compact Kearny-Fuchida Drive Core and sub-light transit engines.

By 3058, the fruits of those labors had been revealed.  Three newly built WarShips were in the final stages of construction and outfitting, while the leadship of the class (TCS Taurus) underwent her space trials.  Basing their design upon the old Taurian Concordat-class Frigate, the engineers of Taurus reduced that vessel by twenty thousand tons to match the mass of the Vincent-class core they were duplicating.

The new ship quickly proved that it possessed even more firepower and armor protection than the old pre-Reunification War vessel it was based upon . . . although cargo space was lower, and the design engineers had to remove docking collars from the design (as their study vessel, the Vandenberg had not included any.  Still, the final result more than pleased Protector Jeffrey Calderon . . . and caused heads to roll (literally) among the ranks of ComStar's ROM who had been completely hoodwinked by the Taurian subterfugue.

The Taurian Concordat Navy has announced that if the remaining trials are completed as handily as the initial tests, TCS Taurus will take her place on station as the first Taurian active-duty WarShip in more than two centuries.  Her three sister ships (TCS Samantha, TCS Jamestown, and TCS New Columbia) are expected to join the rapidly expanding Taurian Fleet over the course of 3059 and 3060.

Same here nice idea nice execution I think people in the FedSuns and CapCon would worry too this kind of development in 3058 would be a scary thought for both powers

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

As long as you are not (a) Davion, (b) Liao, or (c) affiliated with the Star League (including the Clans) in any fashion, contact Chandler Shipwrights of New Columbia at HPG extension TC-HC-737-44-385-66201.  Please make certain that your export license issued by the Office of Protectorial Oversight is current and that you have sufficient funds to place within a bonded escrow account.  Now available in Navy Grey, Haze White, Interstellar Black, and (for a limited time only) Marik Purple.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.
