Transportation for unit

I am working on a post Star League unit that follows the Groupement Tactique Interarmes (GTIA) or Combined Weapons Tactical Group in vogue in the French Army for their battalion sized unit.

I plan on doing 3 different kinds of these units that should be grouped together into Regiments made only of one type of GTIA and was wondering how best you would transport them with regular Star League Dropships?

* 'Mech GTIA:
- Command and Logistics (I still haven't really figured out its size),
- 2 BattleMech Companies,
- 1 Tank Company,
- 1 Mechanised Infantry Company,
- 1 Artillery Company.

* Cavalry GTIA:
- Command and Logistics,
- 1 BattleMech Company,
- 2 Tank Companies,
- 1 Mechanised Infantry Company,
- 1 Artillery Company.

* Infantry GTIA:
- Command and Logistics,
- 1 BattleMech Company,
- 1 Tank Company,
- 2 Mechanised Infantry Companies,
- 1 Artillery Company.

I still need to figure out the Command and Logistics and also the Aerospace support but you get the picture.

Are you looking to lift each GTIA in a single dropship?  If so the only real choice is the Colossus (all 3) or the Excalibur (Cavalry or Infantry). Otherwise you are probably best using smaller dropships - Unions for the mechs, Gazelles for the Armor and Artillery and Seekers or Condors for the Infanty.  You could also use Triumphs for the Armor & Artillery if you want 1 dropship to carry both units.

So your transports could be:
mech GTIA:
2 Unions 
2 Gazelles
1 Seeker
(or use 1 Overlord & 1 Triumph so the unit can be carried on an Invader JS)

Cavalry GTIA
1 Union
1 Triumph
1 Seeker

Infantry GTIA
1 Union
2 Gazelles (or use 1 Triumph and the whole unit can be carried by an Invader JS)
1 Condor

Not really. The Colossus is too rare and the Excalibur is too big (and only maintained by the biggest powers).

The Condor and the Seeker were produced after the end of the Star League, so they are a no go.

The Condor and the Seeker should be SL designs- Someone back in the FASA day did not know that the 28th Century was the 2700s.  It doesn't make sense that plans for designs of dropships would spread to different successor states during the SW period.

And I am even more puzzled now as the fluff for the Vulture states that these ships were decommissioned after the end of the Age of War and replaced by the Seeker class, which puts the Seeker production at latest in the 2550s.

Again I would ignore the dates for the Condor and Seeker (and Avenger for that matter) and make them all SL (or earlier) designs.

I gave it a few more thoughts and here is what I came up with.

As always the idea is to be able to transport the GTIA in a single JumpShip available to the Star League and not a rare one.

The big unit will be 2 'Mech GTIA, 3 Infantry GTIA and 3 Cavalry GTIA strong with one HQ and Logistics Company (I don't know if this is enough) and a Ground Aero Wing (9 Aerospace Fighters Squadrons, 9 Conventional Aircrafts Squadrons and 9 Transport Aircrafts Squadrons).
The Ground Aero Wing should be able to move on its own but the different GTIA should take into account for their transport needs that they will be assigned a Aerospace Fighters Squadron.

* 'Mech GTIA:
- Command and Logistics (1 company (is this too much?) and 2 Vehicle Lances),
- 2 BattleMech Companies,
- 1 Tank Company,
- 1 Mechanised Infantry Company,
- 1 Artillery Company.

* Cavalry GTIA:
- Command and Logistics,
- 1 BattleMech Company,
- 2 Tank Companies,
- 1 Mechanised Infantry Company,
- 1 Artillery Company.

* Infantry GTIA:
- Command and Logistics,
- 1 BattleMech Company,
- 1 Tank Company,
- 2 Mechanised Infantry Companies,
- 1 Artillery Company.

Irose, I thought a little about my HQ/Logistics elements and in the end after trying to make them too big (smaller than the company I assigned previously but still too big for the transportation resources), I came back to 1 Platoon of Mechanised Infantry (2 Squad for the HQ and 2 for the Logistics/Engineering) with 2 Lances of Light Vehicles (Trucks and Engineering Vehicles).

So here is a couple of tables summarizing it all.

'Mech GTIA

The only area lacking is Aerospace as I intent to give them 6 ASF or more but I guess I can reconfigure the available Cargo Bays, even if they can't launch them in space.
And the remaining space will be for supplies/loot... (independent action anyone?).
