...I use 'JumpSats' in my AU - battlestations with a Jump Boom. They're carried by JS, mount a single Cap weapon and maybe a squadron of AS Fighters (mostly for point defense, like a canon Poignard). They turn a standard JS into a unit capable of acting like a Q-ship or for convoy protection, like a housewife in the car with a .38. Pity the fool who tries to carjack HER.
A cool concept, bad sadly outside the scope of the AoC. The AoC is like the Succession Wars x 2.5, so something as neat and clean as a JumpStat wouldn't be built. Still, it's pretty cool. Almost like seeding space mines, but with a capital weapon.
Could they be retrofitted DropShips?
What are the numbers of Dropships available in AoC and the production capacities from the different States/Powers?
The "WarShips" as they exist in the AoC are probably going to be retrofitted DropShips. The total number of DropShips, and JumpShips, like in canon won't be explicitly stated in finite numbers, but the suggested total number is low. Existing production and maintenance facilities are far and few between, and the waiting list long to use one. If a Pocket WarShip does show up, it's a one of a kind modification, and won't be the best "technical" shape. Still, this type of unit will likely represent an enormous local advantage and only committed for the most desperate, or important missions.
