Highlander IIC
Mad Cat II
Hellstar
Roc Point
Centaur Point

Bowman 2
Vulture or Thresher
Athena Point
Enyo Point
Ares Point

Elemental Star

So I dropped the Guillotine IIC for an Ares Point, and moved some stuff around. The Bowman 2, Vulture and Athena vehicles seems like a good core for what might amount to an Artillery Star? I grouped the ProtoMechs with the heavier 'Mechs. Does that work better?

I'd still have a preference for a bit more speed, but that's entirely personal taste.

It should be a lot of fun to try. It took me a long while to figure out how to use Clan vehicles effectively, because so many of them sit in a very odd niche. Go crazy with it.

Speed is good go with it. We of the Clans love odd niches. Seyla

Leave it to an Ice Hellion to suggest that.  :)

I am not the one suggesting it, Knightmare did and I think it suits the Hell's Horses.

Thoughts on dumping the Bowman or Thresher/Vulture for a Grizzly? I could probably swap/add some additional Wolf/Bear BattleMechs or designs into the Binary/Trinary since this is a post-3085 unit.

Any other suggestions? For some reason, I really wish IWM would release some of the Ultra-Heavy ProtoMechs.

Plenty of thoughts just trying to catch them and putting them down is the hard part.

I ultimately went with this mix (which had more to do with what minis I have available - I'll add some new minis at a later date.)

Highlander IIC
Mad Cat II
Athena Point
Rhino Point
Roc Point

Grizzly
Guillotine IIC
Enyo Point
Demon Point
Centaur Point

Elemental Star

I have a couple of Tyrs earmarked for a Ghost Bear unit, but maybe I could move them to expand the Elemental Star into something more mobile? I also found a Point of Harpies.

Thoughts?

Make your Elemental more mobile.

So maybe convert the Elemental Star into a mixed mobile BA Star. Say two points of Tyr and four points of Elementals, or go the whole way with two Tyr Points, four Elemental Points and three more points of "something else"?

Maybe toss in that point of Harpies, and two points of fast moving vehicles/VTOLs?

Thoughts?

You might need to think a little more in terms of what your sub units are supposed to do.
This could help us helping you  ;)

Well, the first Star is clearly a slow moving, heavy hitter. The second Star is slightly more more mobile, but also capable of laying down some hurt. The third Star is where I'm having some issues. I like the idea of using an Elemental group, which would keep a canon feel to the Trinary, but without transport I'm afraid those Elementals won't be much help.

Anything new at this point I'll have to purchase. I'm out of excess minis not already marked for something else (currently a Level II of WoB & a Ghost Bear Shrill Keshik Star)
