Guess it depends on what type of Scenario you're running. I can't remember if the Rhino has a C3i variant. If it doesn't, it should.

Because I also want the "feel" of the WoB, I'll make sure there are vehicles and infantry available - Pumas, Demons, Bollas, Purifiers, etc.

I guess some practical advice for lance/level II construction:

You need to have a mix of the following types of weapons:

Hole Punchers: Gauss, PPCs, LL, Big ACs - These are typically on your fire support.

Crit Seekers: Pulse Lasers, LB-Xs, SRMs, RACs - Typically on your brawlers.

If you're unit has a healthy mix of both, then you'll do fine.  Ideally, you pound your target with some hole openers, then you move shoot them up with your crit seekers to take advantage of those holes.  If you forgo one with the other, then you're going to be operating inefficiently.  Combining both is the best.

Clearly, that's the way to go.

However, I also want to have enough minis for a "canon" feel. I may never use them all in a game, but it'll look nice on a shelf or in a carry case.  ;D

So the final tally for a Level II of vehicles - Pumas, Demons and some Bollas? Any other suggestions? I'm not going to use Purifier BA - too cliche IMO.

The problem is that the Purifiers are the standard BA of the WOB.  The other three, the demon series, are really Manei Domini units.  Depends on how you want to fluff your units really.

Well WoB also uses a lot of FWL designed BA. I was thinking of using some of them. Perhaps a squad of Purifiers can tag along.

Also, I asked this in another location. Has anyone seen the new IWM infantry releases? Does anyone know exactly how large the new Tau Zombie model in comparison to a regular 'Mech mini? I couldn't tell if they were map standard or larger.

Actually not a bad option to use some of the FWL suits.

Based on the difference of price between a 'Mech and a Tau Zombie, I would say the latest are much smaller.

Yeah, but it might now be map sized. Might be geared for Time of War or BattleTroops. I just wanted to see something for comparison.

Nope, they are meant for use in Battletech standard.  I almost got some this weekend, they just were not ready for the convention. :(

Same thing for the Liao Lance packs.

So they're little! I don't suppose you could post a pic for comparison? I'd really appreciate it.

I have not gotten one yet.  I am aiming for either ordering from IWM or asking a friend to get me some at Origins.  I would bet they are the same size or smaller then the Battle Armor, cost alone points in that direction.  If it is the size of B/A, then it come to just below assault mech's knees.

Ah good deal. I asked Randall and he wasn't sure! Funny. Sometimes I wish IWM would provide more comparison photos. It took me forever to figure out how big some of the map-scale DropShips were when they were first released.

If by Randall you mean Mr. Bills, that doesn't surprise me.  He's so far up the chain of command, he can't know what all the boots on the ground are doing, and in any case, IWM isn't even his company.

I know. I just thought it was funny. Like Mr. Ford not sure about the size of a Model-T bumper funny. At some point stuff like that just isn't important to keep track of.

Regardless, I'm glad to hear the size is comparable to BA. It makes outfitting a more Shadow-oriented setup that much cooler.
