Battle of Tukayyid

I wanted to start this discussion here based on a Tribble with drakensis over on CBT.

The great climatic battle of the Clan War which occurred in May 3052 is very relevant to Salient Horizon as well as the new Clan Invasion Kickstarter and there are several aspects I would love to delve into here.

Zellbrigen - What was the adherence to the Clan dueling system during the battle? Not only by the Clans who participated in the conflict but by the ComGuards. I have to say that the ComGuards don't come off as the noble opponents which would inspire respect and honor from the Clans. The big example I can fuzzily remember is the Blazing Saddles attempt to fool the Jade Falcons on their target cities which may have helped contribute to their 'tie'. Please point out contradictory or supporting facts!

Bondsman - In our home campaigns we had a few Clan characters captured or nursed back to health by ComStar after the battle but what was the official position on the taking of bondsman? I know that there was a Smoke Jaguar who took a ComGuard captive during the battle but would the reverse be true? Or was there an agreement between the ilKhan and the Precentor Martial to return prisoners at battle's end? And even then would the choice be the individual prisoners?

Escalation - With all the potential dishonorable behavior going on during the battle can any Khan notice the disarray caused by Operation Scorpion? True communications would be nerfed but the Clans have mobile HPGs and a variety of ways to get the word back to their Khans. What if somebody halts the battle and calls for a Grand Council meeting to discuss this strategic betrayal during this crucial trial? Could the Clans take the gloves off here escalating the battle with warship support and other resources perhaps trapping the ComGuards for destruction.
