THE GLORY CAMPAIGN
The battles for the world of Glory are one of the defining campaigns of the Falcon-Wolf feud and serve as an example of the extremes to which both Clans will go when facing each other for extended periods.
Clan Wolf had long held enclaves on Glory, as had other Clans from time to time, however, by the beginning of the 30th Century, Clan Wolf had managed to take exclusive hold of the world. Following the election of Coyote ilKhan Corian Tchernovkov in 2914, inter-Clan Trials began to increase, as the new enemies of the Coyotes and Wolves sought to weaken their hold on power.
As part of this effort, Clan Jade Falcon landed it Beta Galaxy on Glory in 2915, capturing a small enclave and beginning a twelve year campaign, which would drag in the Falcon’s Alpha Galaxy as well. The battles during this time were fierce and unforgiving, seeing the deaths of two Falcon Khans and two saKhans, as well as a Wolf Khan and three Wolf saKhans.
However, more insidious events were occurring within the ranks of the Jade Falcons, as the officers of Alpha and Beta Galaxy funnelled ever more supplies, support and warriors into their ranks to allow them to keep fighting. Whilst gains were being made, much of the Falcon Touman accepted the situation, if grudgingly, however, the death of Wolf saKhan Torren Kerensky in 2927, would see the high water mark of the Falcon advance on world.
By 2927, the Falcons controlled 83% of Glory, however, the constant campaigning was costing them ground in other systems and the Wolves had a new weapon to deploy. The arrival of the Wolf WarShip CW Molniya, a so called Interceptor Corvette, changed the face of combat on Glory. Capable of amazing acceleration, the Molniya and her three sisters (Tsyklon, Energia, and Angara), launched one per year from 2927-2930, were able to effectively intercept and destroy many Falcon supply runs to the system.
By 2930, Clan Wolf had retaken nearly a third of the world, but would see its gains slow, as the CJF Peregrine entered service. The Peregrine was a similar ship to the Molniya and both-classes would clash with each other, and other aerospace units over the final five years of the campaign.
The year 2935 would see the end of the campaign, after another Khan from each Clan was dead, along with an additional Wolf saKhan. The Wolves, now controlling just under half the world’s enclaves were content with the status quo, whilst the Falcon Alpha and Beta Galaxies, the drivers of the campaign from the Falcon side were decimated, both from lost supplies and Falcon politics seeing them sent less and less in the way of support.
By the end of the campaign, a dozen Khans and saKhans were dead, with the Molniya-class all lost and only one Peregrine-class vessel still operational. For the Jade Falcons, 2935 would also see the disbandment of Alpha and Beta Galaxies, with the only two remaining functional Clusters, the Turkina Keshik and 1st Falcon Guards, combined into the new Vau Galaxy. Three other Falcon Guards Clusters, both of the Falcon Grenadiers, the Falcon’s Sword Cluster and the 100th and 200th Falcon Assault Clusters would be removed from the roles in a swath of internal Falcon political pay back for the two Galaxy’s actions.
To this day, both Clans still clash on Glory, however, both are careful not to escalate to the levels that once plagues the world and both Clans for so long.
