Anyone played it? I'm considering getting it as I do like the genre and it looks good. But outside input is always good. :)

One of my favorite space strategy games of all time not as great as Master of Orion I or II but very good. Didn't get any of the expansion packs but the amount of detail say in ship construction is amazing. It has been a while since I played GalCiv2 but I enjoyed it. ;)
-
I've actually been playing MoO2 lately Takiro. Might just break down and get Master of Magic instead but we shall see there.
-
Master of Magic was another one of my favorites. Ah the good olde days! ;)

Now I'm getting all nostalgic! And remembering Privateer too. Decisions, decisions.........

I used to love Master of Orion back in the day.
Something I got recently that I've enjoyed alot has been Sins of a Solar Empire.

Yeah I play this game. It is fun but remember download the manual.
-
You guys see they released a Galactic Civilizations 3? Its a very early Alpha that costs a 100$! Personally I'll wait for the game to be finished to download it.
-
Takiro - $100 for an alpha? No way!
-
Well u get access to the alpha, your name in the credits, every expansion and all DLC that the game ever produces.

... every expansion and all DLC that the game ever produces.
Ok, that part makes it better. Sorta.

Watching some 'lets play' vids on youtube to refresh my memories of a few games. Master of Magic may be winning now. I spent way too many hours playing that when I was younger. Anyone else remember the 300 odd page strategy guide for it? :)
-
Can't say I do. I borrowed the 3.5 floppy disks from a co worker back in the mid 90s to install it on my computer. I remember all the heroes like Mystic X pretty well. Good stuff.

And MoM I on sale at GoG. <ding ding> We have a winner! :)
-
That's a good champion my friend, have fun!
Do you need an emulator or something to run it? Those DOS games are tough to run with expanded memory issues and all.
-
Takiro - no emulator needed. Well separate emulator atleast. I'm sure KM or someone else could explain how it works because I can't :). It runs the emulator when ya open up the game basically.
