Mega CPU Virus

Sorry gang got a real bad computer virus that has been occupying all my free time for the past few days. Any one have ideas on removal methods?

Take off and nuke the site from orbit.

Kidding aside if your computer has caught a particularly bad bug that your anti-virus programs are unalbe to deal with (or it damages things even if they do deal with it), you are better off backing up the essentials and then getting the whole thing wiped and starting over.

I had a really bad virus that would not go away awhile back, I tried several different programs but nothing would take it off. I read about a program call Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and it took care of it with in an hour. If I'm not mistaken the link to download it was  http://antimalware-download.com/index.asp?aff=11231&camp=ls_malbytes_us&se=ls. Another one that I use on an every few day basis is Super Anti-Spyware http://www.superantispyware.com/. They are both free, which is always good, hope they help.

Phew, just finished resolving this problem. Took about a month. In the last day had a massive amount of pop ups and blocks from viruses that infected my computer through a root kit. Nasty bastard. Finally managed to yank it out though and everything is running 5x5. I'm switching from Avast to McAfee for more protection in the future. Sorry for the delay this bugger caused guys.

I'd suggest getting Kaspersky or going with AVG internet protection over either McAffee or Norton's, Takiro.  My box uses AVG and the laptop Kaspersky and ive never had an issue with either.
