Hi just wondering will ComStar form the ComGuards & ROM in the BTSD universe?

If so will the ComGuard still use there base 6 organisation and do they have there bases at Luyten, Ross & the Periphery and will ROM carry out its wave of assassinations on the inner sphere's science community?

Quite unlikely for the first one.
From what I understood, they are more corporate oriented, so a ROM like part of their business would be possible.

So no heavy ground forces? (Mechs & AFV's) but SF units (Light of Mankind) would exist and maybe line infanty (security guards?) to protect HPG's?

How about ASF's? I'm assuming ComStar owns/operates Jumpships & Dropships so maintaining an aerospace force makes sense.

Well the very nature of C* will naturally create ROM. As the funnel through which practicly all communication flows it will be the target of all the IS intel services so a big and competent internal security aparatus is vital. As for the Comguards they will likely exist as the heavy weapons branch of ROM, now way they can become what they were in OBT without Terra and the remaining SLDF formations.

Just another question, will ComStar in btsd use the same ranks as in obt? Or will they come up with something corporate?

So instead of Primus, Precenter, Demi-Precentor, Adept, Acolyte we'd get CEO, Manager, Team Leader, Supervisor, Operative.

Right now they are very corporate with the addition of the Ministries which sound somewhat religious. Take a look in Mercenary Guild for their Corporate Profile (Fanbook 3, PDF page 254 to 258). It is revealing. I put my own touches on ComStar.  Grin

The sectification of C* will depend greatly on Toyama and the outcome of the post Blake struggle. Without Terra the OBT isolationism of C* will be practicly impossible to maintain so that should strenghten the corporate faction over the church faction - but never underestimate the ruthlessness of religious fanatics...
