Q & A
« on: July 18, 2011, 11:18:22 PM »

It recently occured to me that my timeline doesn't have a question's page, and I'm generally brimming with answers (not always the right ones).

So here it is.  Any question you've ever had about my timeline and my motivations behind it ask here and I'll try to answer.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Been having thoughts recently towards expanding the in universe persepective of my universe.

Basically like the WarShip of the Week, or Mech of the Week fan articles over on CBT but based around the unit's I've created in the Techlab or other units present within the universe.

Anyone fancy being an outside pair of eyes and trying it with one of the units?  I would do it but I created a few and borrowed others so I don't want to be bias towards anything.

I'll have a go at anything you “borrowed” of mine if it helps.

Go for it would be interesting to see the perspective, including the variants I've added or the changed fluff

Well, I'd like to give the Pegasus a go. What exactly are you looking for; an in-universe intelligence report, or something from an outside prospective?

An in universe perspective on the unit an evaluation of its capabilities and its downsides

Written a bit like the unit of the week articles on cbt start a seperate thread in the tech lab in case of the Pegasus it would be

The last Columbia-class battleship known to exist FSS Pegasus...

Feel free to go into as much depth as you want including the in universe rumour a second vessel Rycon survived... Not to say its true

If anyone feels like a challenge and fancies writing an Intelligence Report about one of my non-canon designs please feel free and follow Starbug's example

http://ourbattletech.com/forum/dragon-cat-collection/intelligence-report-fss-pegasus/

Really fantastic addition, if anyone wants to try another unit feel free.  If you have questions I'm happy to provide more information, and future implications surrounding various designs.

More from the timeline soon.

It was really a great report to read.

I cannot confirm or deny that the picture is that ship  ;)

Anyone else looking for a crack at any of the units?

In your universe, was the Templar built on Talon or Kathil?

Hopefully the original poster (Lord Harlock on CBT) doesn't mind this going here as well, as it answers a question regarding the timeline (which this thread was created for)

Simple answer for this one - production takes place on both.

Originally it was Talon as canon states however as time went on and I read the Jihad books (especially when Talon got nuked) I made a choice to expand it - basically the Hasek family commissioned the design and in this they have pushed production onto another planet to make sure that if one line is destroyed another survives.  (it's built under licence on Kathil)

I haven't really made this an event in the timeline it was just one of those things I made happen but didn't really make a fuss about it
