The Clan that only pilots Dragons, likes hanging out with Russian and British dudes, and is very intangible.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

There was nothing more implied there than a bad Kitty Pride joke.

Another one from the main forum which I'll add here (with answer)

Why did the Fighting Urukhai leave FS space and head to Taurian space?

In the FCCW, the Urukhai lost salvage rights, got hit with mistaken fire and fell into a trap and then got mad, packed up and left. With no FCCW event and battle, why did the Urukhai leave?

Officially their contract expired, unofficially Baron George Hasek offered them a deal that was superior to their AFFS Contract which they accepted the AFFS ordered them to leave Federated Suns space by the nearest border which was the Taurian one.  I meant to make it an event but never got around to it.  It was supposed to be the first step out of line from George, but kinda got overlooked  :-[ (maybe time for some retcon  ;D), if the Taurians hadn't destroyed them the MRBC probably would have in the courts.

Another question from the general thread I'll answer here as well as in the thread to save anyone having to look

This is great. What more is to come.

Ask and I will answer... so far the timeline is written in this format until the end of 3085.  However I have a framework that leads up to 3191 in differing levels of detail.  I need to fluff out sections of the story (certain years have 1 event at present) but the frame is there all is needed is the detail

Just a general observation to throw out.  My understanding is that it usually takes ~1 week to recharge a KF drive using the jump sail and a much shorter time if using a recharge station; travel time from standard jump points to a planet are ~5 days depending on the system.  Many times I have been reading your awesome AU story and the travel times just seemed short to me.  As an overall issue don't worry about it since the quality of the story line quickly distracts me again.  I guess I'll just have to use the jump calculator in MekHQ to determine if I'm being overly anal retentive(probably).

Only one real question, what program do you use to generate your maps of the Inner Sphere?

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts & writing with us.

Thanks, generally I go for the recharge time that fits the storyline if it's quicker assume they fast charge it  ;)

Glad you enjoyed it

Personally I use just a standard JPG map of the Inner Sphere I've opened in Paint it allows me to keep control over the various planets that have changed hands but the awesome map found in this thread below

http://ourbattletech.com/forum/dragon-cat-collection/3081-map-1092/

Was created by Blacknova what program used I'm unsure it just looks great

One comment and answer from the BattleTech Forum that I thought belonged being put on here as well as it explains a bit more of the story's direction without giving too much away...

Curious that the 'new' Burrocks would be so willing to attack all of the Clans and tick them off. Guess what little is left of them will now go the way of the Wolverines.

The first draft of the timeline this was the decapitation of the Clans.  The "Burrocks" that caused these bombings were originally Khans of one of the active Clans who were attending a Grand Council meeting - the two originally were equal victims of a "Donner" styled bombing against the Khans.  Only one of the Khans was to escape soon after a Clan or two would invade the Inner Sphere trying to escape the growing conflict... #P

Then Wars of Reaving came out and I got ideas.... }:) >:D

I'm going to breath a little life into this thread with a question from the BT thread and its answer (I posted there also)

Nice designs, what are the chances of more Whirlwind II's?

Slim but not impossible.  House Davion's two Whirlwind II's are refits of the original class.  There are currently three known examples of this class in the Inner Sphere/Periphery 2 are in the hands of the Clan Snow Raven while the third is in the hands of the remnants of Clan Fire Mandrill.

The Federated Suns has had alright relations with the Ravens especially with Burton Davion's "connection" to Sterling McKenna so it wouldn't be too much of a leap for them to get that one.  The Fire Mandrill vessel Warsaw is currently crippled after the retreat from the Clan Homeworlds, the Mandrills have virtually mothballed it, so depending on what the Suns offered the Mandrills they may see an opportunity to trade the wreck.

Any questions about the timeline or requests feel free to ask either in the thread or here, I'll answer as best or as cryptically as I feel is required  ;)

Is there a list anywhere of the mercenary commands that are active (and destroyed)?
