Fan TROs: all-in-one overview, or factional Field Reports?
« on: December 07, 2013, 02:20:18 AM »

My Renegade Tech 2.0 project is continuing, and might even be approaching readiness for an alpha release (I’ve been walking down this tunnel for so long that I just can’t tell any more if that light ahead is the other end or an oncoming train), but I do have a question for the community here.  The mechanics on their own aren’t particularly useful without units that use them, so I basically need to do a fan-TRO to match up with the state of the universe in my chosen time-frame.
Therefore, I ask you: if I were to create a TRO of units converted to fit RT2 mechanics and assumptions, what organisational format would people prefer — a compiled overall TRO, like the big print/pdf releases seen out of CGL, or a series of smaller TROs with each focusing on a given faction, like recently seen in the TRO:3145 and FR:2765 series of pdfs?

How many factions are fighting over this universe?

Probably go in smaller pieces, lets you get the hang of things as you go and address issues as they arise, instead of in one big hit.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

Oh, it’s set around 2829, the start of 2SW, so I’ll be sticking with canon factions to start with: ex-SLDF gear, the Big Five and the Periphery Three.  Depending on developments and reception, I might throw in ComStar/TerraSec, the defunct RWR, and maybe some non-canon factions later.

Smaller books for me, helps making keep track of things easier.

I prefer bite-size pdfs. Maybe even smaller than doing a whole faction at once, depending how many units there are.

If you need any help producing the record sheets I could probably find the time.  I haven't been very motivated to finish my alpha strike card maker lately :(
