2014 products, what are you exciited for?
« on: January 02, 2014, 10:27:28 PM »

Got this list from the main forums

Code: [Select]
Introductory Box Set

The ilClan

Experimental Technical Readout: Gunslingers

Experimental Technical Readout: Primitives 4

Experimental Technical Readout: Succession Wars 2 (?)

Handbook: House Kurita

Historical: Wars of the Republic  (3085-3130)

Era Digest: The Dark Age - (3100/3130-3132)

perhaps Dark Age Turning Points - with the Cave Lion and the Raider? (?)

Jihad Turning Points: Arcturus

Dark Age Turning Points: Irian

A Time of War RPG Adventures  (?)

remaining Field Reports: 2765

Some Hex Packs and/or Map Packs probably - Mountain Terrain Map Set

Dossier (Lance) - Davion

Alpha Strike Supplemental

3250 Box Set (?)

The Clan Expansion Box Set was cancelled (x)

Succession Wars - this boardgame may be published, or not

for me Jihad Turning Points is perhaps the most fascinating.  Uncle Chandy's Mercenary Coalition was perhaps the most flavorful group in the jihad, short lived though it was.  I also appreciated the "Governments are to busy fighting each other to face the real threat, so I WILL" attitude he had.  of course the ilClan sourcebook is also high on my list.

ohh there are so many books :)

First I want the Alpha Strike in german (should be out in 2 quarter here in germany) :)

Then the IlClan would be interesting, I want to know why and how this IlClan (it seems that it must be the wolves who fought against the republic and the clans at a whole are so strong in 3150 that every other power will die very quickly, ohh and the clans never lose anything the go on and on and on with the stupid battles. And No I don`t like the clans)

The XTROs would be nice too
And the Historical RotS would also be very interesting.

I would LOVE nothing more then to see the wolves on the precipice of triumph blow thier shot and then some other clan not the Falcons take the top spot.  seeing the ravesn come out of nowhere with thier fleet over Terra and saying "WE HAVE A WOMAN NAMED MCKENNA AT THE HELM!" would be AWESOME!

Wouldn't that be a fit of irony.

I wonder what island (or two) she'd use as an object lesson?

WORD (of Blake) is good for two things. 1. Leaving inappropriate notes on other people's work. 2. Adding fake words (of Blake) to the dictionary.

Australia.  Bad things happen to Australia in Sci Fi Universes.

I was thinking smaller, like the island of Manhattan, the Azores or even the Canaries.

Destroying Australia and New Zealand is just too...well, Blakist.

I love my Aussies, but if one looks at most Sci Fi Properties that involve earth, Australia is nuked, invaded, offered as a sacrifice, hit by a meteor or falling spacecraft, the epicenter of an extinction level event, or they win the Ashes.

*EDIT* I am well aware that of the past 300 games, Australia has taken The Ashes 20 more times then England.

I'm sure that you're referring to Tokyo, aka matchstick-city. (Although the colony drop in Gundam was a notable exception).

Tokyo isn't an island, you say?

That can be... corrected.

You can add another one to the tally after England capitulated faster than a French Army in the 5th Test in Sydney.

And Ice Hellion responds in 3...2....1...

Whatever book next moves the story along. Until sometime in 2015, when all the 3145 units and tech work in MM, I'm pretty much stuck not playing, as 3145 is really the only period I have much interest left in playing.

HBHK of course, only a few years late.

Interstellar Operations if it happens to make the cut.

Not sure if Alpha Strike Companion would be in there, it could be good, but not if so darned buggy like the other related products :(

And the other FR 2765 books.  Once all those are done I may finish up my succession wars style computer game.

Nothing else suits my fancy.  I loved the map packs, but I never see BT played on them.  I plan on taking my others to kinko's to see if they can print them at 175% size, so I can use them as base terrain for heroscape maps, but don't see them ever having a miniature put on them.

Hopefully Randall finds somebody to write some unit editor software like he mentioned this year.  I am already doing it, and if I spent 100% of my free time instead of 5% on BT could knock it out in a few months, but CGL hates me so hopefully they can find somebody more to their liking.... who is a good programmer/designer.
