PDF Help and advice
« on: March 31, 2018, 04:07:54 AM »

I'm working on the text of another Battletech book like my Delranes one, but alas my friend who helped me make the PDF last time is unable to do it this time due to RL workload (and it stressed him so much last time, he worries far too much :s ) So I'm going to be taking a crack at it myself, but i've never done anything like it before, so if anyone is any good with it and has ideas, i'd love to hear them, otherwise its going to be a LOT of trial and error. :s

I'd love to help but I am afraid I am well out of date. It has been several years since I 'published' anything in PDF form. I will keep my ear to the ground for you bud and wish you the best of luck.

You can get a pretty good approximation using Google Docs and downloading the file as a .pdf.  Some portions aren't an exact match, but you can get pretty close.

Included attachment is a quick and dirty image of what I made in about a minute. (it took me longer to figure out how to make sure attachments worked like I hoped here, lol)

Oooh! Very handy!  That looks like it could be easier to do than I feared it was gonna be!

If that doesn't work, current versions of Word have an 'export to PDF' option.

Cheers folks, I've still got to do the writing and stuff, also question related to what i'm working on.

What sounds better

FRAM (Fleet Refit And Modernization)
or
SLEP (Service Life Extension Programme)

Asking for reasons.  :D

But i'll write something up and convert that across and see what it looks like to see how it goes.

FRAM rolls through my mind easier than SLEP.  So I vote for FRAM.

Well it depends.

FRAM sounds like an upgrade program for warships while SLEP acronym instantly gets me thinking of a mothball program for warships.
