SensorsOne of the most distinctive advancements of Third Gen military technology is now the most ubiquitous. All 3rd Gen military sensor packages—those that come free with any cockpit/control system—now boast the equivalent capabilities of the Clan Watchdog CEWS, effectively negating the effects of the various C3, Active Probes, Narc systems, and ECM Suites used by “vintage†machines. (Only TAG remains unaffected.)The interference generated by Third Gen sensor suites is bad enough to actually impose a +1 to-hit modifier against all “vintage†combat units attacking a 3rd Gen unit (including support units equipped with Advanced Fire Control). Any unit using Basic Fire Control or No Fire Control systems double the normal to-hit modifiers for their lack of advanced targeting capabilities. Conventional infantry is unaffected by this sensor disruption. In addition to this, because 3rd Gen weapons incorporate Targeting Computer components where appropriate, they may make use of Targeting Computer rules without requiring a dedicated targeting computer per se. As a result, there is no actual 3rd Gen Targeting Computer to speak of, and Third Gen weapons are incompatible with older-model TCs. This TC capability is lost after the first critical hit to the unit’s sensors. This sensor package may be installed on any Third Gen combat unit (or any “vintage†combat unit from the Clan technology base). Support Vehicles of any Tech Base may not incorporate a Third Gen sensor package. Note that these sensors cannot provide the Targeting Computer bonus features to non-Third Gen weapon systems.
WORD (of Blake) is good for two things. 1. Leaving inappropriate notes on other people's work. 2. Adding fake words (of Blake) to the dictionary.
