New Columbia
« on: May 11, 2015, 01:07:47 PM »

master arminus , just a question about the location of new Columbia . since the hyades cluster is supposed to have about 50 stars within it . what is new Columbia's location relative to Taurus , where you have the cartwright shipbuilders warship yard . this has puzzled me for quite some while , since it's not on any canon map
thank you in advance for any illumination you might give .

More than that. It is supposed to have 300 to 400 stars.

I would still like to know where new columbia  is located within the hyades cluster . i'm sure I've missed the names of several system's or planets that have been in mstr. a's or irose's taurian threads here . just interested in one , new columbia .
thanks for the come back .

Periphery (1st Edition) stated that there were 10 "almost ideal" worlds within the Hyades Nebula suitable for human colonization.  However, in canon, we only have Taurus, Ishtar, Samantha, Jamestown, Ina, Megaris, Menion, and Parian . . . and of those, apparently Ina, Megaris, Menion, and Parian 'dropped off the map' sometime during the Succession Wars.

So I needed two more systems . . . and I made them up.  New Columbia and Aurora.  They ain't canon.  They are mine.  Homebrew.

As for the location?  Somewhere within 1 jump of Taurus, Ishtar, Samantha, Jamestown, and the other worlds of the Nebula.  Certainly less than a dozen light-years.  Where exactly?  I don't know.  Because it doesn't really matter to my head-canon.

mstr. a since new columbia and aurora are your creations . I thought you should have first choice in their placement within the hyades cluster . I'm wanting to add them to my map of the concordat . my map will show both canon and non-canon systems .
thank you for your response .

Put them where you want them.  As long as they are in the Hyades, it is all right with me.
