A new Fan-TRO effort?
« on: October 09, 2014, 12:56:51 AM »

Has anyone seen this?

http://builtforwar.blogspot.com/

I caught wind of it over on 4Chan.  The site looks like they've put a lot of thought into it, but....

Well, to be honest, I am getting the same vibe I got from Imperial Starbase Seattle's printed material, and the ISC Wildcat manual.  That is, a good bit of planning and dreaming and a lot of those plans down on paper, but not enough concrete details already worked out - and actual work accomplished - to constitute a serious go of it.  It's almost a warning sign when they have that much already 'scheduled'.  Stuff happens.

I dunno.  There are so few examples of this sort of thing to work with, I hesitate to do more than speculate.  They're just starting, so who knows?  Rommel Twee could probably weigh in on this.

They DO have a lot of submissions in the can, apparently.  150 submissions will be a lot of TRO, even after the weeding process is done.

Wait and see, I guess.  Crowdsourcing for the funds may be problematic, however.

Regards,

Good question.

I have sent an email and posted in several places on their blog.  Three days have passed and no one appears to have taken any notice.

I have not volunteered, but then, I would like to see what they're coming up with and -  most importantly - not how they're planning to solve the various issues they face, but how they're actually doing it.

That's half the fun of watching the blog - seeing what they come up with to achieve a particular milestone.
