Introduction and question
« on: April 08, 2011, 12:05:48 AM »

First up, Hi all from the newcomer. Some of you might recognise me from the CBT forums and already be shaking your heads in dismay.

I was largely lured here through an invite by Blacknova because of the amount of fanfic I’ve pressed out. I’m somewhat flattered, though I admit that straight up I do have a rather important question.

The fic I produce isn’t “AU” in the strictest sense. I do as much as possible to keep it within the bounds of existing canon wherever possible, and generally any conflicts that I find are more likely to have the crap edited out of them then anything else. True, I do create new units, events and characters, but they are still done within the framework of the existing universe. Beyond that, though, I also tend to produce a lot of supplementary material; unit profiles, character biographies and the like that I use to flesh out the details of the stories.

The other thing I do is maintain a strict “Fanfic continuity” as such; all my fics are supposed to co-exist with each other. So while it’s not really AU, it’s sort of “supplemental” continuity as such.

So, ramble aside, here’s my main questions: First up, where would be the best place for my fanfics, and then secondly, where would be the best place for the unit profiles?

Thanks in advance.

Nice to see you here.

Probably the best place for now is Historicals or AU's, but I think we need a new Board for Canon Inspired stories.  What do you think Knightmare?

Welcome Deadborder!

Done.

Canon Inspired is up and running. A Unit Child Board will be available as soon as I finished saying hello. I've also added a Member Questions Board under Important Info. So members can ask away AND not be denied.

Hello!

Welcome Deadborder!  Glad to have you aboard.  Don't hesitate to ask for any help, we're more than happy to.  I'll have to check out some of your fanfic, but this should be a perfect place to cultivate it without having to deal with mods and the untamed masses of the CBT forums.  Its nice to have control over your creative.

Just thought I'd say hello, as Blacknova was kind enough to point me this way. Though I still have no clue why he tagged me as "prolific", as I'm the fellow with nothing but unfinished AUs due to not having the motivation or skills to make them fully fledged. I'm glad for the invite though! :) Still looking around and getting the feel for the place, and not currently working on any AUs.

Good to see you.  The site is not just for AU's, it can be for anything and hopefuly with the masses of willing collaborators, you will get to see the end of one of your stories.

I know I'm very late to the party, but welcome Deadborder!

I've thoroughly enjoyed your writings on CBT and I look forward to reading them and hopefully more new stories here.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.
