on the main bt site they have what i call contributors corner . site fans contribute to have new ironwinds metals miniatures made . so why can't this site do the same towards fanbooks . i know from what is already available , i would make a monthly contribution towards completing some additional fanbooks . if this is a workable idea to you guys please let me know . i'm not crazy , just a bt fanatic .

It's not a bad idea but I'd like to see your specifics.

takiro  , I believe that 2 field manuels  are in the works (MoC & OA) , but are delayed . already have the major inner-sphere house army fanbooks and tro:2800 . would the other 2 FM's and a tro:2800/periphery sound reasonable .

takiro , after carefully going through the army fanbooks I really liked them , but without tro:2800 you wouldn't know where the manufacturing centers , shipyards were , nor would you know what they produced . so tro:2800 supports the army fanbooks pack intoto .
the 3 periphery fm's would be supported by a tro:2800/periphery in the same way plus give info on the smaller periphery powers and independents , so yes I would make a monthly donation towards these items , to get them off the backburner .

Thanks for the offer but no.   The FM:P projects (and others) are on the backburner and have been so for a variety of reasons.  These are projects I started out of my own personal interest/love of BT.  I didn't do it to make money (it would be a serious legal issue if I tried to- I don't own the copyrights).  Right now my BT interest is starting to wane a bit, which is why I really haven't done much lately (yes Tak - I really do need to get TA 2785 AFFS back on track - I got blindsided by a few things this summer) it's hard to dedicate a lot of hours to the projects (which are labors of love) when the motivation isn't there.  That's not to say I won't come back to them- if TA 2785 AFFS gets a good response that may revitalize me, but right now while i am willing to answer questions and give my ideas I don't see too many of the fan books being completed in the near future.

See when Irose and myself started the Shattered Dawn universe the Star League era was a blank slate. BattleTech was in real trouble as I don't think Catalyst had come along yet. We had done several dozen projects like the Naval Archive together and then we got started on the story of the Last Cameron and a struggling Terran state fighting for survival against the would be Successor Lords. A more vibrant Periphery was envisioned in this new universe one which I hope to detail out one day. I think to a certain extent we were victims of our own success as TPTB began to delve more and more into the Star League era. Delusions of grandeur is closer to the truth but for a while there we had some great fanon going. Granted we were a couple fanbooks, stories by blacktigeractual and others, but we inspired quite a few efforts in our day. Master Arimnas Kerensky & Kurita storyline probably being the best of the bunch. Several official retcons and many years later the love is kind of gone sad to say for me and development is a struggle. Its hard to keep up with the new canon stuff like FM SLDF, Era Reports, and Field Reports which while well intended took a lot of gray area out that we loved to delve into. The current Field Reports actually inspired us to action as the Davion one was so pale in comparison to what Irose had done but not released years ago. So our current BTSD project is Threat Assessments AFFS: 2785. Would you be interested on helping on that??

takiro I would be willing to contribute to the davion book . if it's as good as what I've read already , I would be willing to help back it and future projects . irose i think you took my suggestion  of contributors in the wrong vain . i ment no insult to you or any of the other writers there . i simply thought that with the proper backing said project might see the light of day . from my own experience I've had funds slashed from projects  i had been assigned , and parceled out to who knows where . so that is basically where i was coming from , just giving a helping hand .
