BattleTechnology to Canon
« on: August 22, 2013, 07:50:11 PM »

Hey all, wanted to get this diverged into its own topic so here we go. I'll also PM Knightmare and have him transfer the appropriate thread. Anywho, as Gabriel pointed out in the Upcoming Releases thread there seems to be a trend of canonization for classic design from the bye gone Battletechnology magazine.

http://www.ourbattletech.com/forum/general-discussion/upcoming-release/msg31183/#msg31183

Having started the trend with several similar designs (Battleaxe, Omega, etc) with Shattered Dawn I'd like to identify Battletechnology designs that have made the cross to canon. Also what designs would you like to see canonized?

off the top of my head the Battletechnology items that made it to formal TROs are

The Battleaxe, Gladiator, Falcon, Rampage, Banshee 3S, Wolfhound, FLE-14 Flea, Titan, Osprey

Devastator Assault Tank, Predator Tank Destroyer, Kruger Combat Car

I think their are many fine designs that deserve to be canonized. One my favorites is the Achilles. Alas no but it should be the Guardian is a fine design.

I remember the Alliance (and I think I still have the issue), but I don't remember the others. Which issues were they in?

Don't recall off hand. I found them in the HMP Program in the Battletechnolgy folder. I know they were in one of the magaizines, but for some reason I think they were in Tech Factory

Here are the designs that I know have been canonized
Issue 101 - Falcon Battlemech
Issue 102 - Devestator Tank
Issue 201 - Gladiator Battlemech
Issue 202 - Banshee-S
Issue 203 - Battleax Battlemech, Predator Tank Destroyer
Issue 204 - Wolfhound Battlemech
Issue 7 - has the Grand Dragon but this came out after TR3025
Issue 8 - Flea Battlemech
Issue 9 - Lynx Battlemech, Hornet (but I think this came out after Wolfs Dragoons,
Issue 11 - Titan Battlemech
Issue 12 - Osprey Battlemech
Issue 17 - Kruger Combat Car

There are several designs that share common names (rampage, templer) but they are very different designs.

As for the Aussie Mechs (Boomer, Kangaroo, Joey, etc) they are in issue 19

I believe so - the Challenger was in Battletechnology I just don't remember which issue off hand...but that said I don't recall the Challenger making it to canon.
