Second Wind: Fanbook 3145: The Periphery
« on: May 13, 2017, 11:50:33 PM »

So, I'm doodling around on the computer one day last week, waiting for a download site, and just for giggles decide to re-read some of the fluff for the project.  Well, that gets boring, so I start playing with the margins, put outlines on the pages, fiddle with the images to center some, shift others, then realize I know the perfect image for this unit and that unit...

Long story short, its looking pretty good, and may actually see the light of the internet soon; 8 of 15 units have been checked, after a couple days.  I even managed to squeeze out some of the math errors from making the units by hand.  The nuisance is, I have to re-do the units using the individual entries.

I'd like to include HMP-style record sheets, too, but don't know how to transfer that kind of thing to the Word document; can anybody explain?  I'd guess some kind of image, transferred to the document somehow?

You are using Word?

HMP should save its files somewhere on your computer.
This is where you should look.

I know there's an emulator or whatever its called to let it run on my Windows 10 machine, but don't know how to do it.  And even if I do, how do I transfer it?  As a picture?

If HMP is working on your computer, you can either print the record sheets in pdf or make a screen capture.

So, it comes down to making HMPro work on the Win 10 box.  Any idea how?

Great!  That should do it, I'll try to do it this weekend.  Thanks, Ice.

Yup.  First project I've ever finished, cover to cover.  I was going to get Mechrat to host it here, but I'm on vacation ²/3 of the way across Canada right now.

I'm actually working on the next project now, the WoB invasion of my AU.  Lots of drones, refurbished IS and AU tech, Primitive JumpShips, etc.  I can't remember if I posted an updated table of contents here or the official forum.  Until the 17th its back to paper, baby.

I'm hoping to at least rough out the timeline but need sarna for little details like dates for Arthur S-Ds Terra sighting.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Hmm.  Nah, not the FM-style.  More a TRO/Sourcebook type of thing.

Not much is going to get done, though, the wife is visiting and stuff and I watch the kids.
