Completly unscientific Poll No 3, Favorite Tracked Vehicle
« on: February 02, 2013, 12:32:55 PM »

are you sensing a Pattern here?

For me, my favorite tracked vehicle sphere or Clan is easily the Manticore tank.  while not quite as tough as the Rommel/Patton the layered firepower make it a much more versitile and harder hitting beast.  pity cause I love me some autocannons.

For a fun Mod, take the succession wars model, remove the PPC, and Missiles and replace them with a Plasma Rifle and MML 9, each with three tons of ammo.  you gain anti infantry/ anti armor capability, caun heat up as well as damage mechs and boost your short range firepower by 33% while losing ONE LRM.  it is a net win.

For the Inner Sphere it's a very had call, but I'd have to say the Schrek edges out its competition.

For the Clan it's the Morrigu

Zhukov!!!
Slap a Fusion engine in it and get the speed up to 4/6 and then we can talk. Otherwise it can stay parked in the motor pool.

it is interesting that Drakenis and hellion pick defensive tanks, and Epoch and I got for offensnive.

I would have specified that but even among bt veterans that defninition is pretty nebulous.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.
