I beginning to consider myself a grognard and harking back to the pre-Clan days. There's entirely way too many weapons, too much technology and something over 2000 Mech designs (incl. variants and omni configurations). I yearn for a simpler time. I, however, do enjoy the storyline of the mid 32nd century and would like to see more. From the eye of this beholder a large amount of the artwork leaves me nonplussed or outright hating it. This has been the case since the Celestials came out.

It looks like the Era Digest:  Dark Age is out today.  Just FYI for the DA fans out there.
I'll probably be getting it today but won't be able to read until later this weekend.

The best part of finding landing a full-time gig after four years of scraping by? I can finally afford some of those missing BT PDFs.

Its a good read, nice to get some meat on the bones of the 'pirate' mini-factions.

Finally the Spirit Cats described as a Cult instead of a Clan.  I think it's the Inner Nova Cat in me that likes that

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

In regards to the DA era digest, I thought what was there was good.  I was a little disappointed in that I thought they were going to expand upon stuff a bit and not just summarize the novel and other MWDA events.  I don't remember reading anything I didn't already know from DA sources.

The mini-sourcebook is small enough that I would rather they had included this info in Era Report 3145 and not had us pay an extra 10 bucks for the info.

true, but in universe the document we were reading was supposed to be collated by the Ghost Paladin.  You would think with that being the case that some new information about well anything in the early DA would have been included.

I hope big mysteries like who caused the HPG blackout are finally resolved.

Maybe... ;)

I thought we were clear that your outline for the Niopsian-Azami Collective was rejected.

we got a lot of "How" with the HPG grid, not a whole lot of "Why"  the field reports on the major splinter factions were most enlightening, and we did learn about other splinter groups that were not nearly as militarized.

sure no major mysters were solved if that is what you want.  from a development perspective that answer does not want to be given yet (or has not been figured out)  from an in universe perspective bitches just don't know.

The book was fine.  I was being overly critical because I've been waiting years for the era to be covered.

Way to spoil the super secret GenCon product. Now what are we going to do with all these "ALL YOUR TAINT ARE BELONG TO US!" book covers?
