Design software question
« on: March 31, 2013, 07:01:11 PM »

What are y'all using these days for 'mech and vehicle design sofware?  I assume that the HM stuff is still way behind but is something like SSW still around?  Thanks.

SSW is still going.  Solaris Armor Werks (SAW) has also been added to the downloadable software for vehicle design.  SAW is still a work in progress but is good overall.

I am still very much digging SSw, though it is a touch out of date on the mech library side, and I am lazy

I do really WISH SSW had an Aerospace/WarShip program.

You know there is something wrong with the FWL, when Word's spell check changes Impavido to Impetigo and Zechetinu to Secretion.

I recall warship design giving me headaches!  Not as much math as some systems but still......

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Paper 1.4 and Pencil 2.6

That is how I do it at the moment, however I downloaded the new 1.5a and 2.7.  Bit buggy, but worth the hassel.

Still, being as I would not work on an iron lung, the thought of point and click WarShips satisifies something deep inside me.

My own program with a horrible looking interface... I can design everything with it.  One of these days I'll make it pretty for the 18 people that play the game worldwide to enjoy ;)
