The Light Cruiser had promise, thogh I wonder why the Block II dropped some of the Killer Whales for Barracuda launchers. I'vd only glanced at it for now, but there are a busload of new commands.

Barracudas are more effective against Fighters then White Shark missiles.  They are intended to serve as defense against enemy aerospace fighters since the Commonwealth does not mount any standard weapons for that role.

Very Star League in its design philosophy.  More so than any of the other ships from these Field Reports - I like it

I like the Odessa Regulars, Hesperus Guards and York Regulars as well in some ways these formations remind me of the AFFS with the smaller units like the New Ivaarsen Chasseurs.

Big surprises for me was the size of the Lyran Regulars compared to the Lyran Guards and the size of Skye's forces

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Barracudas are better at targeting small craft and fighters is just about my only justifacation, especially since White Sharks can be used to load Type III Niuclear Warheads.

This Field Report seems a bit then what came before (FWLM in particular and AFFS as well). I have enjoyed reading the What If scenario laid out in the sidebars as well as Operation Catalog. Glanced at the Light Cruiser and the small Navies get me so crazy I won't even comment there again. The old commands from the Succession Wars board game are a welcomed addition even if some of their background stories don't make sense to me.

What do you guys think??

I've only skimmed this one so far, but from what I have seen this looks like the best FR yet.  This feels like it is a 2765 book, the previous ones felt more like they were 3025 material rewritten to fit 2765.  (One are in particular that I have seen is mention of numerous weapon manufacturers that we did not previously know of, which were clearly destroyed during the SWs.  Most of the other FRs have simply used the 3025-3075 factory listings as the basis of the industrial sections.)

I'll see what I can do Corsair, send me your e-mail address via private message here on the forums.  ;)

Agreed Irose, I like the bit about Iota Galactic being created in the Commonwealth fluff (not sure if Alarion was a huge naval producer during this time though) and the name of the Terran BattleMech manufacturing company on Hesperus which I believe I've seen before.

I have really enjoyed the York Regulars read but the Hesperus Guards are confusing as hell. Typos with Terran and Tamar I think contribute to this.

It really isn't bad. Just wish FWLM was done half as good.  :P

It didn't lack for characterful regiments, I laughed through reading this.

The small Lyran Regulars make sense: this is where the SLDF veterans largely wound up in the late 2780s.

The Commonwealth is a nice ship, compares nicely to the Congress-class frigate.
