Hello all, i'm new to the forum.
I joined very recently and never got around to making this kind of post.

I've been interested in the battletech background on and off for half of my life.
A WH40K player, I am slowly collecting some Brets.
As a fluff nut those 2 systems appeal to me and for exactly the same reason so does BT.
I've been on and of collecting sourcebooks, rulebooks and of course introductory sets for the last 3 or so years.
Finally I've begun to play the game on a regular basis.
I play a homebrew casual campaign where I GM for my brother. My brother controls my main and favourite force: 5th Sword of Light.
I liberally give some abilities and xp and we play more for story and fluff than rulecrunching... for now.

I apparently got some people in the store to buy the Introductory Box Set, so I try to promote the game somewhat. But it's difficult to push past GW's monopoly.

The nature, lack of space needed and 'cheapness' of the game makes it great fun to do at home where i do not need elaborate gamingtables to have a fun time.

My current main 2 forces are the Fifth Sword of Light and the Clan Jade Falcon Omega Galaxy.
For the rest I have 3 mercenary units atm to use as campaign opponents. Battle Wasps, Blue Haze and Bloody Cross mercenaries.
We mostly play Successor Wars as I like the low tech and storyline-wise i'm a fan of the setting up until roughly after that pesky Davion-Steiner civil war.

Gamewise I'm currently playing Mechcommander 2 (modded) and I've played the Mechwarrior series for years before I even turned to the tabletop.

Hmm...if you're looking for userbars, I know the fan art section on CBT has quite a few. I used to keep a userbar gallery here on the forum, but until I finish some extra site projects the gallery is on standby.

You mean wether or not I have 'fluff' background for them?

I'm still considering giving them some background.
I have hints here and there as I used these units mostly as opponents for my Sword of Light or Clan mechs in campaigns and pickup games.

My Red Suns are led by an ace pilot in a Battlemaster with a red sun on white scheme. The mechs of his unit have a brown/sandish scheme. I'm still unsure whether to have them truly be ronin or have them be an official Drac unit. (i have yet to field these guys) They're also my smallest unit i can field.

The Bloody Cross have an urban camo scheme and a red X as mark. In campaigns I usually have them work for the Lyrans. They have 4-5 lances I can field. A hodgepodge of light, medium, heavy and assault.

The Blue Haze are repainted Marians. They have a lot of unseen more so than any other unit i have.

The Battle Wasps are recently made as i had a horde of new mini's in the anniversary battleset.


As so far I always played in the Successor Wars (and occassionally Clan Invasion) most are old designs. So no Maulers, Naginata's, Fafnirs etc in there. :)
