Something I've randomly worked out
« on: April 18, 2011, 10:33:42 PM »

I posted this on the CBT forum to not really profound just a funny thought and it was about my AU so why not

This is kinda stupid but something I've worked out the last couple of days.

I've had time off work and been working on my AU Timeline - kills time and keeps the mind working and away from day to day troubles.

As I was going through my AU I realized I understood TPTB's plan/idea of doing a time jump.  Sure we haven't had one since 3040 but it makes complete sense.  Each timeline that is played has a major event a Succession War, the Clan War, the Jihad otherwise all you get is such and such was born, Regiment X was destroyed, planet was conquered, such and such died.

Nothing wrong with it and you can get great stories out of it but there's nothing that defines the time.

I kinda get a time jump from post Jihad to DA or post DA now

Just a random thought

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

...It was never the time jump I disagreed with, it was the way it was presented that I didn't like.  Catalyst has done a much better leadup.

Yeah WizKids jump was bad but Catalyst filling in the middle especially the Jihad (after Hot Spots 2) did work better

That's what happens when you have two distinct corporate entities working independent of each other (well not exactly distinct...) for the greedier good.

Still, if you're going to retcon anything, it might as well be "Clicky Tech" - you know, the game pieces. I like the DA storyline.
