can I include anything that strokes Scott Malcomson's Ego regarding the Eridani Light Horse?  all of his contributions should be stricken from the record.

I've read some about this in the past; I'll see what I can do to possibly get it off of the main Eridani page. I'm unsure exactly how much I can do on that, but I'll research it.

given that it is a fair use Database of the official Battletech Unioverse, and Mr Malcomson's Contributions  are not actually used, I see no problem with an administrator saying "regardless of what the Court of appeals says about your contributions, we must relegate this to the Fanon wiki."

I hadn't thought of putting it at the fanon wiki; I'll bring up that idea there.

To clarify, JPArbiter, do you want any info from that guy removed that is in the article text, or do you mean the section about it at the bottom?

if you ask me, anything that Scott Malcomson inserted on the basis of his lawsuit with topps should be removed since it has not been officially used, and only ever presented as website materiel, albeit briefly.

Quotes from editors at Sarna:

"His material isn't canon, and we aren't reproducing it. It occupies a slightly different status to straight fanon content because it was once, however accidentally and tangentially, canon for a brief while. That makes it arguably rather more canon than some of the odd detail we have on here, like the German fan-novel ... that got published, and we have no direct mention of the content of Malcolmson's material on here, unlike tthat novel. I think it's entirely valid for us to link to where the material is available, because it's pertinent to the detail of the court case within the article section, and I think it's equally valid for us to not have repeated any of that material."

"Sarna isn't just a log of canon detail, it's a record of the history of BattleTech - that's why we have articles on apocryphal sources, on BattleTech authors and developers, on the companies involved, and so on."

So it doesn't look like it will ever be removed, but perhaps it will be moved to a new article. It is relevant information and many other people want it to stay; in addition it doesn't violate any of our rules, so it shall stay. The Sarna BattleTech Wiki has an "all things BattleTech" policy, and has a range of things on it that are canon and apocryphal. Sorry that I couldn't help you out there, but it seems more like a personal matter, and in this thread I'm aiming to resolve textual errors and other specifics, not past controversies. PM me about this if you still have questions.

Does anyone else have Sarna issues that they'd like to bring up?

it isn't a personal issue so much as it is a principle for me, I do not know Mr Malcomson Personally, and I am not involved in any parties on a personal level, but his claims are just so far out of the norm that they need to be at least considered apocryphal content.

If you find any of his info in the text of articles (including the ELH one), please tell me and I will mark it apocryphal; that is one thing that we agreed on at Sarna is that if any of it is found it should be clearly marked as such.

Do we have any other errors to report?
