If you could write a Sourcebook...

If you were given the opportunity to write a BT Sourcebook, one in which you chose the subject/era, what would it be?

The only limitiations would be that you would be limited to 248 pages, so would have some scope, and the subject would have to be something that other canon works have at least touched on before.

Me personally, I'd write Historical: Operation Revival, which would cover the Clan Invasion in detail, from the Great Debate and Invasion Trials, all the way to Tukayyid.  I'd also throw in a section on the Home Clans, so that all 1 were rounded out, we see the pre-ivasion strengths of all the Clans and also get some more detail on Clan Burrock.

That would be a damn fine project. Would love to see the details on the Trails that impacted the invasion. Wolf's refusal, bidding to participate, and the actual combat trails.

Mine just may be Terran Hegemony (House Cameron) ala the old House Sourcebooks. Not to be confused with the SLSB this one would concentrate on the Terran nation in detail.

Corporations of the Inner Sphere. While M&M was a nice view into one corporate culture, the BT universe doesn't work without the star-spanning megacorps that keep it running far more than the House governments. They haven't received near the coverage I'd like to see.

I'd love to do a sourcebook for my AU like a FM Updates style

Going canon Revival sounds fun or a sourcebook covering all the Abjurnments and Annihalations throughout history maybe with tracks that let you play them out I think a historical Not-named Annihalation or a Burrock Absorbtion or Nova Cat Abjournment would be fun

TRO 2590- Age of War and Reunification War TRO

Starterbook: The Crescent Hawks Legacy Telling the tales of the three generations of Youngbloods

Field Manual: Rim Worlds Republic- presented in a fashion of Phillip Drummond Giving up all of the goods on the RWR forces occupying the Hegemony (with RWR native forces for completions sake) it would be the companion volume to Field Manual SLDF

Historical War of Davion Succession: perhaps the biggest SLDF Blunder, I want to see House Kurita and House Davion beat each other sensless for 200 pages

PDF Products would be things like

Operational Turning Points First Somerset Strikers

Starter Packs Swordsworn, Steel Wolves, Stormhammers, Bannson's Raiders, Northwind Highlanders, Spirit Cats, and Dragons Fury (to get players started on a Total Chaos Campaign for the Dark Age)

XTRO Dead Ends- a series of serviceable but ultimately failed military designs.

I believe they've already made that. It was called the DC sections of most TROs. ;)

I would write a FM:/Rules annex for pirates and pirate hunters. focusing on the best practices, and some sample pirate bands. I have been thinking about doing this as a fanbook.

I would also like to see a FM: Bandit Kingdoms set in 3025.

That sounds promising.  How much have you already done?  Sounds like it might take a while but the results, if they hew closely enough to the rules, will find plenty of users out there.

I have a feeling 1st Succession War may be a PDF Exclusive as my the Dragoon/New Delos conflict as Historical Turning Points seems to be way they are approaching them (not read many historricals so not sure how good they are)

Kentares was a one sided Massacre but the counter attrack it caused in FedSuns may be worth looking at

Not much. I have maybe 20 pages, consisting of two company sized pirate hunting merc units, three small pirate bands, and a small write up on potential stategies used to hunt pirates. These were all written for a RPG game I was running years ago. I would have to outline the book and start the process really from scatch.

I would want to make the book as close to canon as possible. Luckily, there is not much written about small pirate bands based out of 3025. Even real information on the Bandit Kingdoms is scetchy.

I would write a Noble's book built on concepts found in GURPS Traveller: Nobles and Pendragon RPG as well as successful computer games like Crusader Kings I and II.

Essentially it would be a noble simulator that would allow you to build up your own small realm within a planet and run it.

The gaming concept of such a source book would be following:
First, it would open up next level in career progress to successful mercenaries (who run units based on various mercenary's handbooks) as a natural stepping stone to owning land and getting into political games.
Second, it works as a natural scenario generator for board gamers who would have below the bigger events level campaigns.
Third, it would allow me to play noble campaigns I run with my own rules on more simulation scale.
