I know I entered most if not all of the MFUK 'Mech designs into HMPro - most of which never had any fluff at all that is mainly those from the MFUK RS's), look in the MechForceUK folder, There were IIRC 46 issues of Comnet (MFUK fanzine) I hope that is of some help,

Dave.

Apparently Bad_Syntax is attempting to contact the publishers of BattleTechnology (he might include UK) to build a complete TRO of the designs found therein. If you were inclined, a similar project could be attempted with the MechForce and MechForce UK designs. However, this would entail contacting the original publishers...

These books (the MFUK Mech Sheets) come up pretty regularly on eBay, particularly on eBay.de, but they never seem to sell.
There's been a fairly extensive set of discussions over of Lords of the Battlefield about the MFUK stuff recently. There seems to be little interest in any of the printed stuff, but some of the Mini Figs mechs are still sought after. Katushya in particular seems to be a favourite.

Welcome to the boards Will! (First, who would have thought?!)
Been hanging around on LotB for a year or so. Doing research into MFUK on account of having a collection from years back and stumbled upon this thread in a Google search. And it was current (which for Google is no mean feat). MFUK info seems pretty hard to come by online, sketchy at best, and some largely inaccurate. Might need to put some info online to fix that.

Anyways, have almost a complete set from way back. Multiple copies of a number of the mech books and scenario books. Gonna catalog it, cost that's what I do; maybe review it, then either shift it all on eBay or trade for some nice shiny mechs that I can actually use in play.

Don't get the 'First' reference.
Also don't recognise anyone from other forums, but I'm a newbie and it'll take me years to work out who's who. That's why I use the same name everywhere whenever I can.

First to say welcome! (Which I'm never first at...)

Well, have you considered scanning the UK copies and turning them into PDFs for download? Hosting the documents, or any other supplement is easy and would certainly spread the info around if that's what you're looking to accomplish before sale.

I was asked that over on LotB too. ;D

Being a big supporter of MFUK back in the day (regional distributor), and in light of many of the contributors still being active writers/authors, I would not wish to breach their copyright or encourage others to do so. Regardless of whether or not Topps would seek to protect their interests, the likes of Dave McCulloch, Mike Stackpole and Chris Hartford deserve to have their copyrights respected.

Now, if an individual gave me specific permission to publish an article or rule set they'd written, I'd have no issue releasing that info and hosting it on my website, and I have done this with various works from a variety of authors of D&D and associated works (my previous area of interest). At the moment, I'll catalogue, post the odd review, probably add an MFUK and BT Fanzine page to my website, and then sell or trade, and if someone else later chooses to breach the author's copyrights, that's their decision to make.

To that end, I've posted a review of Outreach And Beyond over on LotB, and I'll post a copy here if I can find the appropriate section. More will follow over the coming weeks as I work my way back through my geeky teens.

so basically may i ask all the mechs from the german mechforce site that are of course in german, be translated to english as close as possble?  not to infringe on their creative juices and such, just so that we as Battletech lovers may view and admire them?

Well, seeing as you're on to German Mechs now, follow the Phoenix Con link and you'll find the mech they manufactured for last years Phoenix Con.
http://www.phoenixguard.skrupel-sorcerer.de/htm/download.htm  They've even done an english translation of the TRO for us.  :)

The Surtur PC-X is was available in two castings, one with fixed legs, and one with three part posable legs. They also did a dinky little exoskelleton and tele-handler to go with it, ofr those who like their scenery. The Surtur PC-X is basicly an industrial quad that has a military loadout if you want to run it as a combat mech. I found this about three months back and it took some pushing, but we managed to get a representative of Phoenix Con to sell them on LotB.

Also, Mechforce UK published all the early Mechforce US and Mechforce Germany mechs on their last publication, Record Sheets Fourteen.

well i am looking for mostly Mechfore UK mechs and i found most of them via the german mechforce site.   but the problem i am encountering is the write up fluff is in german example:

Quote
Typ: IDG-1GB Ice Dragon
Einsatzgebiet: Garnisonsmech
Erstes Baujahr: 3053
Masse: 60t
Rumpf: Alshain Type 56-60H Standard
Reaktor: 360 Clan Type XL Fusion
Reisegeschwindigkeit: 64,8 km/h
Höchstgeschwindigkeit: 97,2 km/h
Sprungdüsen: keine
Sprungreichweite: 0m
Panzerung: Compound Alpha Ferrofibrit
Bewaffnung:
1 Clan Mk.XVII ER PPK
2 Kolibri Delta Series mittelschwere Impulslaser
1 Type 20 “Great Bow” LSR 20
Hersteller: Ghost Bear Battlemech Repair Shops
Hauptherstellungsort: Alshain
Funksystem: Sipher CommSys 3 mit ECM-Ausrüstung
Ortungs-/Zielerfassungssystem: Eagle Eye SY10-10

Konstruktion : Reinhard Auer

You could copy and paste it and run it through the likes of Babelfish or Google Translate. It'll give you a starter for ten.
