Mechwarrior RPG
« on: October 27, 2015, 01:43:02 PM »

I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, If not please relocate the thread/post.

I wanted to know if there were any members that played the actually RPG of Mechwarrior. Does OBT support any current games?

Anyone want to share their stories?

If you are reading the http://www.ourbattletech.com/forum/parallel-universes/a-non-canon-history-of-new-earth-and-the-hurrican-legion. Then you already are reading the best of my stories. Those posts are created from Game Notes of our game which ran from 1992 through 2000 then picked back up between 2002 through 2006.

A long time ago for me. In the past 12 to 15 years I like to do a lot more story telling and writing. However I can post Robert Takiro's Personal Logs if you'd like which recounted his adventures in the BattleTech universe. It is kind of relevant given MasterArminas new merc unit.  ;)

I have looked over your posts and the detail is overwhelming. You got some good stuff and things like New Earth getting a FedCom tax break for 15 years which is a bit much. That stuff happens though so it isn't bad per say just a little much if you know what I mean.

I would love to read the logs and see what grand adventures your character had. I love the idea of sharing adventures. Maybe even breath some life in to old gaming worlds with some fresh concepts.

And I know what you mean. There are some things that are hard to sallow. I tried to edit out some of the real outlandish things. But I also wanted to balance between the Canon Universe and what really went down in the games. It was a really hard task.

Thank you for your comments and I look forward to reading your character's logs

Oh by the way, I love your image. "For the Last Cameron" has a nice ring to it. I bet there is a story behind it.

Oh my friend, you don't know what you are missing. While this is a great Miniatures Game with a heavy use of tactics and strategy, the rest of the universe is amazing.

Though I can't say the same for the Jihad and Dark Ages Era. However the rest of the time lines were wonderfully created with a wide range of options and plots that are just begging to be explored.

I would recommend it, if that option is available to you.

My first and only b-tech game, young green as a puking  sailor Lance commander
My merc Reg. Under contract landed on an unknown world (to me at least) and was promptly destroyed by a Jade Turkey mer unit of unknown size.  My ride was a Rifleman, and after my lance lost two boys to jump jet failure my lance disbanded and I was put on security detail of our gear.  I was considered bad luck charm I guess.  Well i go outside to catch some radio signals and walk back into elemental a without their suits attakin our techs and cooks and non coms.  So I spray em with my machine guns and route em.  Soon there after colonel whoever is killed and our remaining folks fold.  I get interrogated and offered a position on the jade turkey unit minus 70% of my personal finances and 70% of my personnel resources for my big toy.

One of the things I love about Role Playing Games, is that there are times when the most surprising results happen at the least likely times. And the vast majority of the times, these events occur at the whim of a dice roll.

That is what I love about role playing. Lady Luck seems to always have a seat at our game. And she can be a ruthless lover when she turns against you.

Hey Guys I really hope you are enjoying my story so far. Sorry the last post took so long but I had to do some research in to a few modern military tactics and how they would hold up in the Battletech universe.

Hey I am still looking for a couple of players for our Play By Post Mechwarrior game.

The posting requirements are easy, a few lines a week at the minimum. You can post steady with the story if you desire.

What I am looking for, is a player that is clearly knowledgeable in the Canon Mechwarrior Universe. The more in depth your knowledge the better.

A key requirement for a potential player is to have an open mind in terms of storyline.

Want to play a legacy character? lets talk about it.

Want to play someone never tried before? We currently have a 15yo Comstar Labor who became blind at the beginning of the game.

Try something challenging, or something simple.

Please come by and take a look at our game.

Akira

You are invited to come check out this growing story as it just gets off the ground.

Greetings everyone! Long time no chat. I am sorry for that. I have been very busy with posting in Mechwarrior: Dark Tides and an upcoming baby (due today :) ).

So I wanted to give everyone an update on what is going on in Dark Tides.

I throw a curve ball at the group of four (which includes your own Ice Hellion)!

While babysitting a group of scientists in the deep periphery (Jan, 3161), the party were on their way back to their jumpship via a Mark VII shuttle. As they were on final approach a strange Comstar Jumpship jumped right over top of the party's own Jumpship. It was then that the two K-F Drives triggered a massive misjump. During the misjump, the party's Jumpship and Dropship were both badly damaged or destoryed.

In the aftermath of the misjump, the party wakes up in the medical bay of a Kuritan Okinawa-class DropShip. Starring back is a massive painting of Theodore Kurita in full dress.

After discovering that the much of the merc unit is either dead or comatose, the party watch the next shoe drop. They are waking up Jan, 3061!

While many scholars and scientist have argued that time travel was impossible, the party are now faced with the reality that time travel is possible and worse yet! The party are learning that they were not the first.

Already they have learned that events in their current time are not what history had written. Now they have to locate this other group while concealing their own secrets.

Come and follow their adventure or join it in Mechwarrior: Dark Tides

Sounds interesting, reminds me of some old hooks we did back in the olde gaming days.

Unfortunately I will not participate but I'd love to hear how it goes and where the story takes you.
