Where did the name "Nasty K" originate?
« on: December 03, 2013, 11:37:31 AM »

[Full disclosure: I was involved in one of my not-so-infrequent "debates" with a BT troll, and stumbled onto this question. I questioned that the name of Nasty K came about less due to Natasha's reputation as a vicious combatant, and more because of the "Hot Chick" perception perpetuated about her due to the Tales of the Black Widow cover. I'm honestly not sure where the term even originated and when.]

So I'm asking here. Anybody with access to some of the oldest fluff material...was this name actually used in canon material? If so, where? And when? Was an explanation for the name ever given?

The book "More Tales of the Black Widow" was advertised in early game magazines, as "Nasty's Back."  in time for publication they included a cheesecake illustration that had the Queen of Spades in a sexy pose and in the background was "Nasty K" done as though it were an autograph.

Nasty being short for Natasha of course.  the K symbolizng her surname was the easy part.

So it does trace back directly to the cheesecake. Much obliged.

I would never call anything FASA did carfully calculated... cause well, it is FASA.  This time though it does seem as though the publisher steered the player community.
