Name: The Exeter Division
Commander/Significant Officers: Sho-Sho Robert Duchairn is a smooth-talking, fast-shooting financial whiz-kid who actually graduated from Blackjack School of Conflict's infantry course before being forced to exit the LCAF over financial 'irregularites'. Having ascended the ladder, Duchairn commanded all three of the Division's infantry regiments, punctuated by semi-retirement as an infantry instructor following his marriage, and six months in the Division's penal company (4th Company, 4th Regiment) following more financial irregularities.
Tai-sa Alissandra McGwire is a genuine DCMS-trained mechwarrior. In fact she graduated Sun-Zhang, a rare feat for a woman, only to defect from the Rasalhague Regulars to the Kungsarme two years later. 'Alimony' McGwire retired along with her DRG-1N Dragon in 3047 and went mercenary for more advancement (and hopefully more of a pay-packet to support her estranged husband and two children). The Exeter Division snapped her up as a lance commander on their way back to DCMS employ in 3052 and she's since risen to command their 'Mech regiment.
Forces Available: Somewhat eccentrically, the Exeter Division operate a base-5 organisation, with five regiments of 5 companies each, of 5 lances each, of 5 Mechs, tanks or infantry squads each. At full strength they operate at one BattleMech regiment, one Armour regiment (including a company of Thumper artillery tanks) and three regiments of infantry - they generally operate at 80-90% of this. They haven't managed to maintain an aerospace contingent since the Second Succession War and currently operate a pair of aero-lances more on the basis of having bought up the pilots' debts than any commitment by said pilots to the Division.
Home planet: Formed on Exeter in the Draconis March during the First Succession War by adherents to the (at the time apparently) all-conquering Draconis Combine, the Exeter Division haven't returned to their world of origin except on raids since 2798. For much of the following two centuries they were in continuing employ by the DCMS against the AFFS and they're holding an institutional grudge against the Wolf Dragoons and Kell Hounds for spoiling this tidy arrangement back in the Fourth Succession War. Not that they let that get in the way of doing business and the Exeters were hired on by Duncan Marik during the Andurien War. Having spent most of the 3040s struggling to stay afloat, the Exeters survived on short-term Capellan contracts and a discreet retainer from the ISF until the Clan Invasion when Theodore Kurita signed them back up.
