There is a lot of info in Historical: Reunification War.  Short version is that the Bulk of the RRA was something of a Veterans Association, and after Gregory Amaris accepted the Pollux Proclamation and agreed to submit to Star Leauge Membership they went apeshit and pulled a coup (and thus why Military action in the RWR was necessary.)

they pulled a little over half of the RWA over to thier side, which units are outlined in Reunification War

There's a bit more about them in Historical: Liberation of Terra I and Handbook: Major Periphery States. Also, there may or may not be some RRA info in the Rim Worlds section of the upcoming 2765 Field Report: Periphery. (We'll have to wait and see about that one; that file will be set before the Rift Republicans made their grand comeback, it should be noted.)

Kind of surprising how little trouble they seemed to cause the Lyrans after Operation ALMARIC. Some of them fled to a number of the former Rim Worlds systems left unconquered by the Commonwealth, but pretty much ended up as an historical footnote otherwise. (Not counting any former RRA members who joined the SLDF, and/or followed Kerensky into Exodus.)

In some ways the RRA shot their bolt a little early, and just never recovered. Had the organization kept quiet during the RW (which is contrary to the entire psychology of the org) it may have made a huge difference prior, during or after the Amaris Coup. The RW more or less eviscerated the organization's foundation. The Amaris family only had to keep the pressure on. There are some parallels between the Brotherhood of Cin in the LC, but between the two the RRA had far more juice wasted in poorly timed efforts.

Actually, the destruction of the RWA (RRA is the Rift Republican Army; a splinter group which worked against the Amaris government) was due to many different factors.

I. Kerensky gutted the RWR's industry when he conquered the Republic. From what I can tell, some of the major industries like Rowe Weapons Systems survived on various worlds, but major industries like Krauss-Liemann and United Mechanics, LLC were shut down or converted to field SLDF materiel.

II. The SLDF hijacked the lion's share of the war materiel and burned for Terra, leaving the shaky Dormax government in power over a divided Republic. There were Dormax loyalists, RRA dissidents and Amaris sympathizers, all vying for power. This created an unstable civil war which drew the Lyrans into the conflict under false pretenses.

III. Kerensky never made good on his promise to liberate the Republic after the war. Robert Steiner simply conquered the RWR and never returned it, taking with it the best factories, including Weigel Armory & Munitions on Kwangjong-ni (later a Defiance Industries installation) and Blackstone on Inarcs (which made the advanced Talon before the war). This meant the surviving worlds would do without their signature weapons of war and could not sustain a military presence.

IV. Stefan Amaris abandoned the RWR militarily once Kerensky had shown his intentions to invade. Mohammed Selim had a scant 10 - 20 Regiments to defend the entire Republic, in addition to civilian militias and Castles Brian. Without the Republic's vast fleet, Kerensky easily picked apart these divisions and allowed some atrocities to be committed in the name of the SLDF. This included the destruction of entire regiments, execution-style.
