When I downloaded the Kurita preview, the first entry I see (the Kishi battlesuit) is 85% 'Battle History' and only 15% anything else. So I'm not sure what you mean by "use" and "style;" are they things that TR:3025 would put under the Battle History header?

EDIT: the Kishi might be an outlier. I just went through the Mercs preview and they look more balanced.

Back to the Omnimech Discussion, the Centurion Omni brought many happy joys to my face.  this sucker if I did the math right can potentially replace the Enforcer Dervish, Fennec, Griffin, Shadow Hawk, Wolverine, and Stealth.

not a good "All Medium mechs are now Centurions" Machine, but certianly a great new backbone unit.

also the Templar B makes MrsArbiter happy in a special place.

I'd agree as OmniMechs go the Centurion is a better trooper design than the Gun from TRO Capellan

The Templar is a really nice upgrade

Biggest criticism I'd maybe have of them is that they are both all trooper/command designs unlike the Zibler Fast Tank which is a nice mix.

For the Omnis I'd like a bigger swing towards the traditional "missile config" "AC Variant" "Command" not saying I don't like the current Mechs though.

A more interesting play is the new equipment and weapons
Re-engineered Lasers
Radical Heat Sink System

Both of these sound way more interesting than the TSEMP from Capellan

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

the Gun is a Multi Role Garrison and Milita design rather then a strait up trooper.  one of those "We only can provide you with a company of mechs, but those mechs can do all of these things." designs.

as for the centurion Omni, each canon design is strait up centurion yes, but the tonnage and space also allows you to replicate the Enforcer, Fennec, and Dervish with ease.

The radical heat sink, maybe. Re-engineered lasers so far (from very limited information) sound like they just combat some of the new armor types. I don't find that near as interesting as a 'Mech crippling taser that doesn't have as many drawbacks as the original. I love the idea of capture units, and think it is a brilliant addition to the complexities of the 3145 battlefield.

Hell according to Herb TSEMP can affect targets as large as 200 tons.  can you imagine TSEMP on a fast striker, like a Gunsmith, aiming for a shuttle craft that either has a Brigade command Staff on it, or a Spec Ops Team? forcing a crash?

I am glad to see some new omnis.  With the rought after the civil war followed by the post jihad proliferation of handheld weapons, I was afraid they were killing IS omnis.

Omnis are my personal preference for logistics reasons (frankly, with the existence of omnis, it's hard to justify the existence of certain designs) and also since I run combined arms so they mesh well with BA (also nice to see a couple more heavy BA to carry around).  I am especially intrigued by the Gun being that it's specifically designed as a rear line unit despite the omni markup, and I am also glad to see we finally have an Omni hover designed for combat rather than as a bus (and again, with BA, the combat hover can fufil that role somewhat, though it is a mite slower).  I am still waiting to see VTOL and WiGE omnis, though.

After seeing what the RotS did with the Bolla (redid this WoB omni to support IS infantry formations and swapped the C3I for a C3S), I am really hoping the Celestials get the same treatment.

I should mention, though, I don't really see how the new Templar improves much on the old one.

I can see a few things,  first you must understand that in story the Templar Manufactuering plant was nuked to ash, so there needed to be a replacement for rapidly dwindling supplies.  the primary benefit is the cost saving measure of the Light Engine over the XL engine. while this cuts into the pod space significantly.  the solution is a reliance on energy based firepower rather then the heavy ballistic weapons that the old templar traditionally deployed.

Don't hold your breath.

The Celestials are persona non grata among the ranks of OmniMechs, and they (the Celestials) carry a terrible stigma thanks to the Shadow Divisions. Coupled with the fact that they were custom-designed for the advanced cybernetics of the Manei Domini, that their primary manufacturing plant was slagged during the Coalition's invasion of Terra, and you can more or less accept the fact they're not making a comeback tour.

Now, I'm not going to flat out say we'll never see the Celestials again, I'm just saying we'll never see the Celestials again.  ;)

Sorry.
