probably a stupid idea for a long term project.
« on: November 05, 2012, 09:59:00 AM »

I had a dream, and I am a big fan of the Game overthinker these days.  so I was thinking of something.

if you had to attribute a satirical face to the battletech fandom, and apply it to each of the seven deadly sins and the four cardinal virtues  (SATIRICAL TO ALL OF THEM) what would they be?

I have ideas rolling around but need a litt5le more insparation

BattleTech products aren't Pokemon Cards. You don't have to catch, or collect them all.

WHAT NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THAT!

Sloth - Being a Smoke Jaguar  ;D

Pride - the player that always has to be a member of the Davion Guards, or their character descends from someone famous (ALL THE TIME)

Gluttony - the player who insists on firing that extra salvo into a dead Mech to make a point or always runs out of ammo for no reason

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

I was thinking gluttony as being the player who insists that "if it appeared in any official product it is fair game." reflecting people who abuse LAMs, Ferro Lammeror armor, or the Phantom Mech Ability.  still got some good ones there.

hmmmm I wonder what sin we could place idiots like Scott Malcomson into...

Scott Malcomson  is the guy who wrote a rather extensive amount of vaporware for FASA about the Eridani Light horse, and when Fanpro used fifteen sentances on a website he sued Fanpro and Wizkids (and ultimatly Topps) with the express goal of trying to forcibly claim legal ownership of the battletech property.  the Cass is Scott Malcomson v. The Topps Company in the 9th Circuit Court.

it makes me think that pride and hubris might be best to describe him  people who think that they can do things better, faster and cheaper then TPTB despite having zero experience in publishing, or running a business etc.

NEWS FLASH as of 10/1/2012 SCOTUS denied his claim to review his case, and his series of losses stand.  what he gets for trying to represent himself.
