I'd propose that folks look through all the art and miniatures that OBT forum members have put up here or on other forums and we nominate a short list of a dozen or so.  I know we don't have much on this side of things, but it would be interesting to see anyhow.

From there, we select a panel of experts (grongards, diehards and whingers) to vote on the best three pieces and provide a few notes on why the choices were made.

For the fiction, we have a bit more depth.  What I would propose is this - OBT and anyone from CBT, can submit a list of their three favorite Fan Fiction Authors.  Once we have tallied the totals, we could ask the top four or five to write a joint short story, with each taking a chapter and co-writing the story.  Some might decline, so we could work our way down the list until we have enough warm bodies to make it happen.  If fans submit story ideas, the eventual writers could choose a topic they would like to collaborate on.

I think there would be no more fitting way to celebrate the community we have built here than to undertake such a joint, community based project.

I think that's more two ideas: looking for a best of, and then doing a celebratory bit of fanfiction.

For the former, maybe set up threads asking for nominations in categories - best fanfiction, best posted design, best art, etc. Then when nominations are closed, a new thread with a poll to everyone to vote for favorites.

I'm not sure 'winning' a request to write something would work, but how about agree that a few of the more obsessive writers on the site will work together and write something that _unites_ all those categories. Sharing universe with the best fic, featuring the art, the design, whatever. Subject to agreement by whoever posted said winners.
