« on: November 19, 2012, 08:28:17 PM »

I just posted this over at CBT based on the ISP3 thread.

Based of what Deadborder said above, the distance between the three known worlds is about 290 LY give or take, if we ignore the distance between XXXX and Jardine, as follows:
Jardine to Odessa 288LY
Odessa to XXXX 290LY

Based on those spreads, the following areas in the attached dpocument and thier abandoned worlds conincide with an approoximate distance of 290LY from XXXX or Jardine and 290LY from each other.

My two cents anyway.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

Interesting table for sure...I favor both of the remaining two being in Fed Suns Space given the amount of Cappelan Shrinkage that occurred over 400 years....

regardless, the other two will be revealed if and when developers say so and will be placed where they want them to be placed, and pass off any "HAS TO BE HERE" fan declarations as evil word of blake misdirection.

This was just posted on CBT:

Quote
Of the 4 dead FedSuns world in your document, Lynchburg and Quimper both died between the end of the 1st Succession War and the end of the 3rd.  I think that would eliminate them from contention.  However, I'm not seeing either Korvitz or Maison on the HB:HD maps.  Where'd they come from?  Nevermind.  Found them in Era Report: 2750.  So they're SL-era worlds that disappear in the 1st Succession War.  Perfect timing.  Off to more research!

The clues are sitting under our noses

now if you cross that with the path liberation AFFS forces would take to get to New Avalon you might get the world.

I'm guessing the text in ISP3 refers to the Davion Brigade of Guards when they travelled en masse to New Avalon to liberate it, that sort of force would be worth hiding from

That would make Quimper the more logical choice.

As to the Capellan world, the goulash quote points a finger at Bhykov, but that's just me reaching.

This just in from Herb himself, we now have a mystery answered, and in a general thread no less.  Is that the first time something like that has happened.

Quote
Real Name vs. Shown Name
Ruins of Gabriel  is Odessa (LC)
Jardine is Heraklion (FWL)
Obeedah is Sharpe (CC)
Taussen is Versailles (FS)
Mayadi is Tangerz (DC)

By 3100, Jardine, Gabriel, and Mayadi were found (and all destroyed: Jardine by traps volcano, Gabriel was shattered completely, and Mayadai had poisoned itself at least a century prior). The others were never found.

Thread is here:
http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php/topic,35214.msg821787.html#new

I am a little stunned it came out so matter a fact and like this, but am pleased to have the information and to know we got close on one.  Versailles is the only one that falls outside of the 290LY theory.

Thankyou Mr.Beas.

If you read this, what was the reason for letting the information out in such a way?  Was it due to there being little chance of it coming up in a future product, because you got totally baked at a Thanksgiving party and will regret everything in the morning, or are they the wrong ones and you are even now laughing your arse off at us?

Hi,

Simple. I really don't think it matters any more. That story's really run its course already.

Thanks,

So basically everyone rushing to find a Blakist base will find a deserted or devastated planet and who could blame them. Once the truth comes to light in even the slightest it is time to move on to a new super secret base that no body knows of. I do appreciate the big reveal as it is historical gold for us revisionists.  ;)

Very nice plot threads for future stories though I like it thanks Herb

The other hidden nugget from that thread... who Stoner really was

Hi,

We never decided. Whoever he was, it's nobody we've really even seen before. But there's no drama in "he's just a nobody who got lucky", so yeah.

Thanks,

- Herb

A nobody - my Clan followed a Frakking nobody oh dear oh dear... :-[ :'( lol ;D

A rather forceful, charismatic, inspiring nobody with a vision and the grit to stick to the vision, regardless of the costs. That's quite a bit more useful in a leader than "He's so and so's kid."

Hi,

I should note one small detail, by the way: I'm not in charge any more. What I say doesn't matter to the plot any more, unless and until it's published. I could spoil a secret here and there and the only way to know if it's true is to wait until a product comes out that confirms it. Some of those reveals I just made, therefore, may never be confirmed, and could even be completely overturned by whoever runs the line after me.

Thanks,

- Herb
