the Mechs of House Lords
« on: June 11, 2012, 10:53:14 AM »

So I have been working on this project for some time now, scouring every battletech source I can get my hands on.  the goal is to identify the mech, vehicle, aerospace fighter, or other military occupation of choice for every First prince, Archon, Captain General, Chancellor, Coordinator, and ever Director General/First Lord.  attached is a spreadsheet of my labors so far.  I admit sources have not been cited yet, mostly cause I am still culling.  for the sake of simplicity I am starting with royal members just prior to the Reunifacation Wars, the only exception is House Cameron who has a short and complete Family Tree

it seems odd to me that the Federated suns table is the most thorough, though I admit I have yet to seriously dive into the Cappelans or Mariks

A good project to delve into, if I come across anything I'll certainly give it to ya.

Really, as long as there is an unbroken line of people calling themselves "Clan Nova Cat," it doesn't really matter to me if they're still using Iron Wombs or not. They may be dead as a faction, but as a people they still exist. It's not uncommon in the real world, after all.

I'd swear that I saw Katrina Steiner piloted an Orion during the defense of Hesperus II but I can't find the reference right now.

Zeus entry in the original TRO3025 i think.

Also Duncan Marik was an Orion pilot per Bush Wars.

Actually the Orion entry but it's not clear if she piloted one or just had a lot in her unit.

I thought Archon Jennifer Steiner was killed in her Warhammer while attacking a Draconis position during the opening years of the 1st Succession War.

You're right- for reference she was piloting Viola Steiner-Dineson's Warhammer (HSSB p. 49)

Also:
Richard Steiner was CO of the 11th Lyran Guards when his mother died HSSB p.49

It's also likely several rulers did not have mechs as they were not mechwarriors- among the candidates in the LC are Elizabeth Steiner, Marco Steiner and Giovanni Steiner.

KSD's Masakari was stated in Wars of Reaving, Yvonne gets the templar and 4th Crucis member ship purely as honaries.  she is pure civilian, no military training at all, but her husband Tancred Sandovals mech is a Templar, and the 4th Crucis were her bodyguards during the Jihad.

as far as Katrina Steiner (the Real one) there are hints at her running a Griffin, Warhammer, Orion, Zeus, and Battlemaster throughout her career, as well as riding shot gun in, or taking over one of the Kell Boys mechs (either Archer or Thunderbolt).  Woman has quite a history.

technically Melissa Steiner has received rudimentary training in a battlemech as well, apparently her grandmothers Warhammer.

I have updated the table to reflect changes mentioned her and some of my own research.  I have a question about House Cameron.  Historical Liberation of Terra 1 Recognizes that Simon Cameron II did operate a twin cockpit Battlemaster with Aleksander Kerensky whjile on tour of SLDF facilities.  should we count that?
